The Toc H Public Society, Kochi, presently consists of 13 service-minded people. Keeping education as its primary mission, the Society runs a Nursery school, a CBSE school and an Engineering College which together provide a seamless conduit of learning from the cradle to a career. The Toc H Cochin Trust, Kochi is a subsidiary unit of the Society. A 9-member core management team, consisting of the Board of Directors (who are annually elected from the members of the Society) looks after the management of the School and Engineering College.
Prof. (Dr.) P.J. Joseph (President)
Prof. (Dr.) P. J. Joseph was the Head of the Post Graduate & Research Department of English, Union Christian College, Alwaye, and Member of the Board of Studies of the Mahatma Gandhi University and has edited several text books. He has served in various capacities as the Member of the State Level Academic Core Group for the Total Literacy Project of Kerala, Vice President of the Association for Environmental Protection, the Secretary of the Ernakulam District Committee & Member of the National Council of Indian Adult Education Association, the Project Director & Member of the Executive of Various Environmental Protection Programmes and one of the Founder Members of the Commonwealth Association for the Education & Training of Adults. He was actively involved in the slum – rehabilitation programme at Alwaye. He has been elected the Vice President of the Kerala Chapter of the Confederation of NGO’s of Rural India (CNRI). The Kingston University School of Education, Kingston, U.K. conferred on Prof. P. J. Joseph the International Visiting Fellowship in 2007, He has represented the country at various international conferences and presented papers. He has published a few books including three Travelogues in Malayalam. His articles have been published in various national and international journals and publications.He is also officiating as the President of Indian School Phychology Association.
Dr. K. Varghese (Founder Director & Manager)
Founder – Director and Manager of the Toc H Institute of Science & Technology and Toc H Public Schools at Cochin, Tripunithura and Punalur. A committed social worker, he has founded ‘Chaitanya’ (home for the mentally retarded) run by the YMCA, Ernakulam and is a member of the National YMCA, New Delhi. He has donated land for a Trade School run by the Rotary Club of Cochin East, of which he was the Founder Chairman. He has visited Europe, America, Canada, China and Several other Asian Countries. He is the Indian Commissioner of Toc H International and the past president of several social organizations such as the Rotary, Y\’s Men\’s, YMCA, and the Gymkhana Club, Ernakulam. He was a member of the Director Board of the Medical Trust Hospital, Cochin, and also the President of Toc H Public School, Udyogamandal and Vice President of the CBSE School’s Management Association. In recognition of his various social, cultural and educational activities, he was conferred the Doctorate of Philosophy in Social Service by the Cosmopolitan University, University & Research Institute, Missori, USA, in 2006.
Mr. K.A. Simon (Secretary)
Mr. K.A. Simon was one of the Founder Members of Toc H School Society . He was a member of first Kerala State Basket Ball Team and was the first Captain of Kerala University Basketball Team. He was Treasurer of All Kerala CBSE School Management Association. He has served in Ernakulam YMCA Director Board for 18 years and was Treasurer for 10 years. He was the Executive committee member and Secretary of Regional Sports Center, Ernakulam.
Mr. M.X. Paul Vincent (Treasurer)
Mr. M.X. Paul Vincent retired as the Deputy Engineer from HMT, Kalamassery, and is an Organisor of the Catholic Association at St.Francis Xavier’s Church, Kaloor. He was an active member of the Vincent D Paul Society. He is the Convener of Charity fund in memory of the late M. X. Joseph, Treasurer of the Toc H Public Schools. At present he is the Treasurer of the Toc H Cochin Branch. He is the Director of the Toc H Public school, Toc H Institute of Science & Technology, Arakkunnam and the Toc H Cochin Trust.
Er. C.S. Varghese
Er. C.S. Varghese is the Founder member of Toc H Cochin Branch and Director of Toc H School Society at Tist (Toc H Institute of Science and Technology. Retired as Sr. Engineer from HMT, Kalamassery. There after worked as an Engineer Surveyor in General Insurance Company. Formerly worked as a Lecturer in a Government Technical School for a short period. Passed B.Com and Diploma in Management. He is a known writer and author and written more than one dozen books in various topics. Also used to write in main Malayalam dailies on public interest matters under ‘letter to editor column’. His pen name is C.S. Varghese Kodukulanji. A social activist, a nature lover, member and office bearer of certain voluntary organisations and debating forums.
Mr. N.J. Johnson is a retired person from M/s.J.B.Boda & Co.(p) Ltd, Mumbai from their Cochin office. He is the Director of Toc H Public School and Toc H Institute of Science & Technology, Arakkunnam.
Mr. K.K. Mathew is the Director of Toc H Public School Society. From 1993 to 2013 he served as the Treasurer-Director of the Toc H Public School and the Founder Member and Treasurer of Toc H Institute of Science & Technology, Arakkunnam. He keenly participates and involves himself in all social service activities in the society and is a well known public figure. He also holds various vital position of public prominence in the society viz., Treasurer of Malankara Jacobite Syrian Sunday School Association, Executive Member of Kerala T.B. Association, Ernakulam, Vice President of ARA, Ernakulam and Ward Committee Member of Cochin Corporation Ward No.53.
Mr. M. Mammen was the Extension Officer, Toc H India and the Treasurer of the Toc H Public School. Now he is the Secretary of the Toc H Cochin Trust and Vice President of the Toc H Cochin Branch and Director of the Toc H Public School and Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, Arakkunnam. He is the Proprietor of Padinjarathil Printers, Ernakulam and a Member of the Elders Forum, Panampilly Nagar, Ernakulam. He is the Executive Member of the Jerusalem Marthoma Church and a Spiritual worker. He was the Director of the Campus Crusade for Christ International, India for five years.
Dr. Alex Mathew
Dr. Alex Mathew, is a well-known counselor. A Doctor of Theology and Ph. D holder in Christian Counselling, he has got long experience of nearly forty years in counselling in three continents; Asia, Africa and America. He has worked with renowned Psychologists as a Group-Therepist among the mentally challenged and addicts. Prior to this, he has also held the post of Education Officer in the ministry of education, Tanzania. He hold membership in various organizations, a few of them are, ALMS-India, Christian Medical Association of India, American Association of Counselors, Gideon Interntional, Kerala Counselor’s Forum, YMCA etc. He is a master trainer in life-skills to cope up with life and adopt a “Blessing Being” mode of life and help to set up goals and plan priorities and do well in follow up which really help the modern man who is facing myriads of day-today problems. He is the founder of “AGAPPE Life Ministry and services in India” -a charitable Christian services society doing Counseling, training, guiding, directing help to the rejected and needy in the lower echelon of the society since 1999 till date. He is the Executive Secretary of Toc H India and also the President of Grace Counseling India, a Christian Charitable conseling organization, Involved in regular training and counseling, since 1985 till date. He has authored books titled “Beyond Techniques” and “Making of a Christian Counselor”.
Er.(Chev.) Pathrose Pankapilly
Er.(Chev.) Pathrose Pankapilly is the Project Director of Toc H India and the President of Toc H Cochin Branch. He has served in the Kerala State Electricity Board for 33 years and retired as Asst. Executive Engineer (Electrical). After retirement he has served as Manager of St. George High School and LP School at Arakkunnam for 3 years. At present he is the Director of Toc H Public School, Toc H Institute of Science & Technology, Arakkunnam and Co-Ordinator of Toc H Cochin Trust. He is the Managing Committee Member of Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. He is the Organizing Secretary of Cochin Diocese Missionary Sangam. He is an active gospel worker and involved in spiritual activities. He is the Manager of Ladies Industrial School at Govt. Hospital, Tripunithura run by Ernakulam Dirstrict Leprosy Walfare Committee since 2000. He is the Chief Editor of Two Magazines viz. “ENTE SAHAYATHRIKAN” and “SOONORO VOICE”. He is the member of Kerala State T.B. Association and Leprosy Welfare Committee. Now he is the Adviser of Residence Association, Thykoodam, Vyttila
Mr. G.G. Mathew is the S/o (late) Dr.George Mathew, he was the founder member of Toc H Cochin Branch. Since 1972. Mr.G.G.Mathew is the proprietor of VIJAYA AUTO AGENCIES, Cochin since 1985. He is a member of CSI Church, Ernakulam. He is an active social worker. He is the Director of Toc H Public School, Toc H Institute of Science & Technology Artakkunnam and Life member in YMCA Ernakulam.
Mr. Madhu Cherian is retired as Refiner from Apollo Tyres, Kalamassery. Diploma holder in Automobile and Fitter. An active member in YMCA, Kerala Region and Citizen Welfare Association, Alwaye. He is the Director of Toc H Public School and Toc H Institute of Science & Technology, Arakkunnam. Now he is the Treasurer of Toc H Cochin Trust. An active member of CSI Church,Alwaye.
Mr. Kurian Thomas
Mr. Kurian Thomas is an Electronics and Telecommunication engineer, with M.Tech in Digital Electronics and MBA in International Marketing. He has over twenty years of experience in the field of telecommunication, embedded systems and software development. He is currently the Director of Xtend Technologies Pvt Ltd which manufactures and supplies telecommunication products in India, Middle East and South East Asian markets. Among other technical achievements, Kurian co-authored and ran the Xtend BBS, the first Bulletin Board Service in Kerala in 1995 and helped create tools that solved the first reported cyber crime in Kerala in 2001. He is a member of the IEEE society for over a decade and has also served as the Secretary for the IEEE Communications Society, Kerala Chapter. He is also on the board of a number of technology companies based in India and abroad. Mr Kurian is the youngest son of Late Chev. P Thomas (Retd. Executive Engineer, M.E.S.) who was an active member of Toc H and various other social organizations.
