IGBC (Indian Green Building Council)
Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) is a non-profit council, which is a part of CII-Godrej Green Business Centre. The vision of the council is, “to enable a sustainable built environment for all and facilitate India to be one of the global leaders in the sustainable built environment by 2025”. The council is represented by all stakeholders of construction industry which comprises of corporate, government & nodal agencies, architects, product manufacturers, institutions, etc. The vision of the council is to serve as single point solution provider and be a key engine to facilitate all Green Building activities in India. The students’Chapter of Indian Green Building Council at TIST was started on 17th July 2014. It participates in various social awareness activities organized by IGBC. It’s members won the 1st and 2nd prizes in a Street play competition held as a part of a campaign on Water conservation named “Jalamayuram” organized by IGBC at Marine Drive, Kochi.
