National level workshop on Building Construction

Department of Civil Engineering, TIST has organized a two day National level workshop on Building Construction on 15th and 16th of March 2019 in association with E Cell fest IIT Kharagpur. This programme aims to impart knowledgeon various aspects of Building Construction. The workshop imparted handson training from Basics of building construction and on Softwares like RIVET, Primavera, Building Information Modelling (BIM) etc.

Quality Improvement Programme On “Innovations In Sustainable Waste Management”

Department of Civil Engineering, TIST is organizing a three day QIP on Innovations in Sustainable Waste Management”on 19th, 20th and 21st of July 2018. This programme aims to impart the knowledge of state of Waste Management in India. Sustainable waste management is a goal that all societies must strive to maintain. Currently nearly 80% of global wastes are sent to landfill, with a significant amount lacking proper design or containment. The increased attention to environmental impacts of human activities and the increasing demand for energy and materials have resulted in a new perspective on waste streams. Sustainable techniques involving use of waste streams for energy and materials recovery is becoming more prevalent nowadays. This programme will be a platform to share the experiences between academicians, industry experts, NGOs and researchers to address the challenges in waste management.
