TIST-KITCO Employability Enhancement Program

Due to the lack of availability of skilled force, the industries are finding it hard to meet their expectations and grow further. The employability index of engineering students has been declining significantly in the recent times. Taking this into account, the Mechanical Engineering department together with the IIPC (Industry Institution Partnership Cell) wing of TIST partnered with KITCO to launch a tailor made course for the students to enhance their employability.

This course concentrated more on the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air –Conditioning) vertical of MEP. The duration of the course was of 45 days and the course fee was Rs. 25000. A total of 26 students participated in this program It was designed in such a way that it had both theory and practical sessions.

The course included basic fundamental theory sessions carried out by few our own faculty. Sessions were also handled by speakers from industries. As part of the practical sessions the students were sent in groups to major KITCO work sites. Kannur International Airport Ltd. (KIAL), Cochin International Airport Ltd. (CIAL), Meat Product of India, Koothatukulam, Oushadi plant, Thrissur were few of them.
