B. Tech in Safety & Fire Engineering (4 Year course)


Department objective:


To mould engineers who can excel in major areas related to protection of people, property and the environment. The safety engineers of this institute are trained to;

 

  • Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices
  • Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programmes
  • Implement, administer and advise others on hazard control programmes.
  • Measure, audit and evaluate the efficiencies of accident prone processes
  • Draft a future safety plan and statement based on real time experiences and facts.

 

Core subjects:


Fluid Mechanics,  Chemical Engineering, Fire Engineering, Strength of Materials, Electrical Technology, Engineering Design, Safety Management, Industrial Management, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Human factors Engineering.

 

Elective Subjects:


Automobile Engineering and Safety, Safety in petroleum and petrochemical industries, Food and biosafety, Fault detection and diagnosis, Safety in power plants, Safety in health care waste management, Fluid power safety, Total quality management.
