M.Tech Construction Engineering and Management
M.Tech in Construction Engineering and Management introduced in the year 2013 under the department of Civil Engineering provides Engineers and Researchers an opportunity to gain in depth knowledge in the field of management and design aspects related to Construction. The course is formulated such that the key areas of Construction Engineering are discussed to provide good understanding of the subject.
Civil Engineering is considered as one of the oldest streams of engineering and has undergone tremendous evolution throughout history. With recent advancements in various fields of engineering, there is a growing need for building structures that are reliable, economical and sustainable. Thus the need for specialization is of high importance in construction industry.
In order to meet the current demands in construction industry , our M.Tech course provides Scientist, Engineers and Innovators alike a deep insight into Construction Engineering, Foundation Engineering, Earthquake Resistant Design, Design of Special Structures, Structural Dynamics, Metal Structures, Geotechnical Engineering, Legal Aspects in Construction, Fire and Safety Engineering, Rehabilitation, Computational Techniques, Prestressed Structures, Eco-friendly Construction.
This is a four semester P.G Programme based on CUSAT syllabus. The course intake is 24 and GATE qualifiers are given preference in admission.
i) B.Tech or equivalent degree with a First Class (60%) from any recognized University or Institution.
ii) A valid GATE score (Those without GATE score, but having a good academic background will also be considered)
Students are provided with ample opportunities to attend workshops related to Construction Engineering.
The department is equipped with state of the art laboratories with uninterrupted power supply and excellent learning environment. M.Tech Programme includes two labs which provide hands on experience in analytical and experimental aspects related to the programme.
Labs included in syllabus
