 A graduate of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Program will demonstrate:


PSO1: Professional Skills: An ability to apply concepts in Electronics & Communication Engineering  to design and implement complex systems in the areas related to Analog and Digital Electronics, Communication, Signal processing ,VLSI and Embedded systems.

PSO2: Problem-Solving Skills: An ability to analyze and investigate complex design problems in Electronics and Communication Engineering and to critically evaluate alternative approaches to arrive at sustainable solutions using modern hardware and software tools.

PSO3: Successful Career and Entrepreneurship:  The traits (qualities) of high professional and ethical standards, effective communication, teamwork, entrepreneurship and also be equipped for continued learning.


About Department

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering evolved in the year 2002. M-Tech program in the field of VLSI and embedded systems was appended to the department in the year 2009.The college now offers M-Tech in Electronics with specialization in Wireless Technology as well.

Department Objectives

Introduce to the students, a stimulating environment to solve engineering problems by applying theoretical and analytical skills, utilizing all the modern laboratory facilities available and finally help them discover the true sense of a long term education.


Courses Offered and Student Intake

B-Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (4 years) - 120

M-Tech in VLS I & Embedded Systems (2 Years) -18

M-Tech in Electronics with specialization in Wireless Technology (2years) -18


Core Subjects

Digital Electronics, Electronic Circuits, Network Theory, Signals & Systems, Electromagnetic Theory, Digital Signal Processing, VLSI and Digital Communication etc.


Elective Subjects:

RF Design, Intelligence Systems, Bioinformatics, Digital Image Processing etc.




For developing the individual research skills of students and to encourage teamwork, two projects are included as part of the curriculum. The students can choose the projects according to their interest under the guidance and supervision of faculty. The number of students in a team does not exceed 3.


Teaching Learning Process

The consistent practice of Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy (RBT) and Creative Learning Process (CLP) in the department have been producing encouraging results. These teaching and learning practices have motivated the faculty members and the students to shift their perspectives to the most abstract level of education. The faculty prepares FCTs (Format for Class Room Teaching) at least two weeks in advance for all the subjects they handle. The college conducts regular Quality Improvement programs and Technical forums for the faculty and students.


In addition, difficult courses in the curriculum identified by the students are handled by two faculty members by splitting the class into two, thereby providing individual attention to the students.


An Academic Advisory Committee comprising of external academic and industry experts act as a guiding body for improving the teaching learning process.


Faculty Details

The Department has competent and dedicated faculty members experienced in both teaching and industry (scientists from DRDO, BAARC, Alcatel etc) and many are pursuing their doctoral programs. They are specialized in areas such as  Smart antennas, Mobile Communication, Sensor Fusion, Photonics, Signal processing, Embedded Systems and various other fields of electronics engineering. They encourage student involvement in various co-curricular activities along with their academics. All faculty members, actively strive to improve their quality by participating in external research oriented programs and quality improvement trainings. Our faculty members have published their papers in over 11 international and 21 national journals.


Department Library

The Department holds a well equipped library with more than 500 reference books covering the major realms of electronics engineering, several national and international journals and question banks.

  • Mr. Sujit Jose -Successfully completed M- Tech from IIT Kharagpur in Telecommunication & has published 10 IEEE papers.


  • Arvind  Sanjeev- Filed a patent for the project entitled Remote vehicle activation system using mobile phones with android Operating System .He had bagged several prizes in project presentations held at various colleges .
