IEEE Student Branch (Toc H Institute of Science and Technology)

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.
The IEEE Student Branch (SB) at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST) was established in the year 2006 with the vision of fostering technological innovation and excellence among students. Over the years, the branch has grown steadily, creating a dynamic platform for students to collaborate, innovate, and lead in the field of engineering and technology.
Currently, the Toc H IEEE SB hosts a diverse range of active technical chapters, including:

  • Robotics and Automation Society (RAS)
  • Signal Processing Society (SPS)
  • Computer Society (CS)
  • Power and Energy Society (PES)
  • Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group

These chapters enable students to delve deeper into their areas of interest, engage in interdisciplinary projects, participate in technical events and workshops, and contribute to the global IEEE community.

Objectives of IEEE Student Branch:
  • To promote technical awareness and professional development among students.
  • To provide a platform for innovation, leadership, and skill-building through technical activities and competitions.
  • To encourage collaborative research and knowledge sharing within and across disciplines.
  • To bridge the gap between industry and academia by organizing expert talks, industrial visits, and internships.
  • To inspire students to contribute to the advancement of technology for the benefit of humanity.

ACTIVITIES in 2025-2026

BEHIND THE BUILD – ABOUT PROJECT BUILDING

IEEE CS SBC, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, conducted “Behind the Build: About Project Building” as a Section Level non-technical event under INFORMATYKA 5.0. The online session was held on 9th July 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The session aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the journey of building impactful projects from scratch and to empower budding innovators through real-world experiences, practical tips and an emphasis on consistent effort in technology project development. Sreekanth VP led the session, sharing challenges and breakthroughs from his project-building journey and offering practical advice and lessons learned. The session emphasized ideation, collaboration and perseverance for students starting or improving their own technology projects.

FLUTTER 101 – LEARN THE BASICS

IEEE CS SBC, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, conducted “Flutter 101” as a beginner-friendly Section Level technical session under INFORMATYKA 5.0. The online session was held on 12th July 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The programme aimed to introduce participants to the basics of Flutter and help them understand how to build beautiful, natively compiled applications from a single codebase. Led by Rohith Pradeep, an upcoming Software Engineer at UST and former Flutter developer, the session covered core concepts including Flutter architecture, widgets and development workflow. Participants gained insights into building responsive and interactive mobile applications using Dart and Flutter.

POSTER VERSE – POSTER DESIGNING COMPETITION

IEEE CS SBC, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, conducted “Poster Verse”, an exciting poster designing competition under INFORMATYKA 5.0. The Section Level technical event was held online on 12th July 2025, with a 12-hour window from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM for participants to conceptualize, create and submit their work. The event aimed to encourage creativity and design thinking through digital poster creation, showcase artistic talent, and promote visual storytelling aligned with technical or innovative themes. Entries were evaluated based on creativity, originality, relevance to the theme and visual impact.

PROMPT2PIC – AI IMAGE GENERATION COMPETITION

IEEE CS SBC, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, conducted Prompt2Pic, an engaging AI art competition as part of INFORMATYKA 5.0. The Section Level technical event was held online on 14th July 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Participants were given a specific theme and asked to generate captivating images using AI tools based on a provided prompt. The competition aimed to spark imagination and creativity and encourage participants to explore the power of generative AI in visual storytelling. Entries were evaluated on originality, relevance to the theme and visual appeal.

SURVIVING THE SHIFT – CAMPUS TO CORPORATE

IEEE CS SBC, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, conducted “Surviving the Shift: Campus to Corporate” as a Section Level online event on 13th July 2025 from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The session was designed to prepare students for the transition from academic life to the corporate world by providing real-life experiences, practical advice and guidance on the challenges faced by fresh graduates. Led by Gopi Shankar S, Associate Software Engineer at H&R Block India, the session covered industry expectations, communication etiquette, professional growth and the shift from a student mindset to a corporate-ready outlook.

GEMINI IN ACTION – FROM IDEA TO APP

IEEE CS SBC, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, hosted “Gemini in Action: From Idea to App” as a Section Level online event on 14th July 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The session aimed to introduce participants to the power of Gemini and Generative AI tools in bringing innovative app ideas to life and to demonstrate the journey from concept to creation through practical AI integration. The session was led by Abhiram NJ, Software Engineer at Tech4Good Community. Through real-time examples and walkthroughs of tools and best practices, participants explored how Gemini and generative AI can be used to build smart, AI-enabled applications that address real-world problems.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT SURVEY & LED AWARENESS DRIVE

IEEE PES SB TocH successfully conducted an Energy Management Survey and LED Awareness Drive on 19th July 2025 at Arakkunam Colony, Mulanthuruthy Grama Panchayath. The initiative aimed to create awareness about efficient energy usage, identify household consumption patterns, and encourage eco-friendly alternatives. A team of 13 students reached the colony by 10:00 AM and interacted with households on energy-saving habits and power management. Surveys were conducted to assess household energy usage and identify areas for improvement. The students also explained the benefits of LED lighting, including reduced energy bills and longer lifespan, and highlighted the environmental impact of excessive energy consumption. LED bulbs were distributed to homes using inefficient lighting systems and as a compliment to homes with low energy bills. The programme concluded with a short refreshment break before the team returned to college.

BREAKING THE GLASS CEILING – WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP

IEEE WiE SBAG Toc H successfully conducted an online talk session titled “Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Women in Leadership” on 26th July 2025 in association with IEEE SB Toc H. The session aimed to inspire and empower participants by highlighting the journeys of influential women leaders who have overcome barriers in their fields. Through insightful discussions and shared experiences, the programme sought to break stereotypes, encourage women to pursue leadership roles with confidence, and promote a culture of inclusivity and resilience. The session provided a platform for motivation, learning and connection, with the broader aim of contributing to a more equitable and empowered future.

ARDUINO WORKSHOP

IEEE PES SB TocH successfully conducted an “Arduino Workshop” on 30th July 2025 at TocH Institute of Science and Technology, Ernakulam. The workshop aimed to provide participants with a hands-on introduction to embedded systems and microcontroller programming using the Arduino platform. The programme covered Arduino fundamentals and basic programming, including writing and uploading simple programs such as LED blinking and burning programs onto the Arduino board. Participants were also trained using Wokwi Arduino simulation tools, explored OLED display programming, and took part in a hands-on project competition to apply the concepts learned.

LAYER BY LAYER – MASTERING 3D PROTOTYPING

IEEE SBC Toc H successfully conducted a one-day workshop titled “Layer by Layer: Mastering 3D Prototyping” on 1st August 2025. The workshop focused on the fundamentals of 3D printing using Fusion 360 and included practical, hands-on sessions with 3D printers. Participants were introduced to commonly used printing materials and their applications, along with live demonstrations of real-time printing, machine setup and operational arrangements. The workshop was conducted from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Asia-Kolkata) and attracted 55 participants, including 7 IEEE members.

PITCH DESK

Pitch Desk was organized by IEEE CS SBC, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. The event was held on 2nd August 2025 from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Tagore Hall, Einstein Block, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology. The event aimed to provide students with a platform to pitch innovative technical and entrepreneurial ideas, encourage problem-solving and creativity, and strengthen the real-world application of technology through expert feedback. It also helped participants improve presentation skills and refine concepts into impactful solutions.

The event brought together ten finalist teams presenting innovative technical solutions including AI-powered platforms and healthcare and education tools. Team Nexum secured First Prize for “Reva – ML Powered AI Drug Recommender + Symptom Classifier & Chatbot”; Team JEDI won Second Prize with “EduTrack – AI”; and Team DEJAVU won Third Prize with “QuizForge”. The event provided valuable exposure and expert feedback, supported by industry partners Aiilab and Freston Analytics.

 FACE TRACK

IEEE RAS SBC Toc H successfully hosted a webinar titled “Face Track” on 08th August 2025 in association with IEEE SB Toc H. The webinar was conducted online through the MS Teams platform. The programme aimed to introduce participants to facial recognition in security systems, enhance their knowledge of Python and OpenCV skills, and provide hands-on experience in robotics, fostering innovation, problem-solving and community engagement. The session was conducted by Prof. Sheethal Ann Ajith and was attended by 105 participants, including 65 IEEE members.

CIRCUIT CLASH

IEEE Student Branch Toc H successfully presented Circuit Clash, a flagship event of IEEE YESS 2025 (Yearly Engineering Students Summit), powered by IEEE Student Branch Toc H and conducted at NIT Calicut on 20th September 2025. Circuit Clash was designed as an engaging four-level team competition combining tech quizzes, AI challenges, skit performances and buzzer rounds. The event aimed to provide participants with a lively platform that blended technical knowledge, creativity and entertainment, culminating in a competitive journey to crown the ultimate champions. A total of 60 participants took part in the event.

QUIZ COMPETITION

IIEEE PES SB TocH successfully conducted a Quiz Competition on 10th October 2025 at TocH Institute of Science and Technology, Ernakulam. The primary aim of the competition was to test and enhance students’ knowledge of sustainable energy topics. The event was conducted from 12:50 PM to 2:15 PM IST and involved 14 teams comprising 27 students. The competition consisted of three rounds, with evaluation conducted after each round. The programme was coordinated by Athulya P P (Chair, S7 ELE), Angel Maria Saju (Vice-Chair, S5 EEE), Keerthi CS (Secretary, S7 EEE), and Sreehari J (Technical Coordinator, S3 ELE). The expense incurred for the event was ₹834. On 17th October 2025, the prize distribution was conducted, with ₹500 awarded to the first-prize winners and ₹250 to the second-prize winners by Prof. Dr. Preethi Thekkath, Principal, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology.

POSTER DESIGN COMPETITION

IEEE PES SB TocH successfully conducted a Poster Design Competition to create awareness about sustainable and green energy practices and to encourage students to express their ideas creatively on saving the planet and promoting renewable energy. The submission deadline was 10th October 2025. The competition was coordinated by Athulya P P, Angel Maria Saju, Keerthi CS, and Sreehari J. The total expense incurred was ₹1,500. The prizes were ₹1,000 for first place and ₹500 for second place. The prize distribution was conducted on 17th October 2025 as part of Blitz Day. Alpheya KS (EC S1) secured first prize, while Pranav Raj (EL S7) secured second prize.

BUILD YOUR OWN AI ASSISTANT

IEEE SB TocH presented “Build your own AI Assistant”, an online session conducted via Google Meet on 18th October 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Asia-Kolkata). The session was conducted under the guidance of Alosh Denny, AI Consultant at Discern Security. The workshop aimed to help participants understand the fundamentals of AI assistant development through practical experience in coding, training, and interacting with their own intelligent assistant, thereby fostering practical knowledge in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

ENERGY CONSERVATION AWARENESS PROGRAMME AND QUIZ COMPETITION

IEEE PES SB TocH successfully conducted an Energy Conservation Awareness Programme and Quiz Competition on 17th December from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The programme aimed to promote awareness of energy conservation, responsible energy usage, sustainability, and conservation practices among students. The programme began with an introductory session by Athulya P P and Angel Maria Saju, followed by a technical and awareness session handled by Keerthi C S on responsible energy usage, energy conservation techniques, sustainability, and the role of individuals in achieving an energy-efficient future. The session concluded with a quiz competition. The coordinators were Athulya P P, Angel Maria Saju, Keerthi C S, and Sreehari J. The first prize was secured by Ajin K Jeyan (EL S6) and the second prize by Nandu Varghese (EL S6).

TinkerHack 4.0 Organized by TinkerHub , Toc H Kochi

TinkerHack 4.0, a hackathon organized by TinkerHub at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, Kochi, was conducted from 21 February to 22 February. The event brought together enthusiastic students and innovators to collaborate, ideate, and develop creative technological solutions within a limited time frame, fostering innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

IEEE Signal Processing Society Organized One -Day Workshop  on FPGA

The IEEE Signal Processing Society organized a workshop titled “From Zero to FPGA: Vivado for Beginners” on 13 February from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Signal Processing Lab. Aiswarya Chandrasekharan and Bhavana V Nair (S8 ECE) Conducted Workshop. The workshop provided participants with hands-on exposure to FPGA development and introduced them to the basics of using Vivado from scratch. It was designed especially for beginners who wish to step into the field of hardware design and implementation, enabling them to understand fundamental concepts and gain practical experience with FPGA-based development.

IEEE RAS Chapter Initiative Grants Secured

The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Kerala Chapter announced the results of the IEEE RAS Chapter Initiative Grants, with a total funding of $20,784 awarded to various institutions. Toc H Institute of Science and Technology proudly earned a grant of $1,930, recognizing its active engagement and impactful initiatives in robotics and automation. This achievement places the institution among leading engineering colleges in the state that secured funding, further strengthening its commitment to fostering innovation and student development in advanced technologies.

IEEE Student Branch Toc H and IEEE WIE SBAG Toc H organized an inspiring session titled “The Power of Self-Belief” featuring Ms. Esha Fathima M. A., Influencer, Former IEEE WIE Chair of the Student Branch and a proud alumna of Department of ECE Toc H Esha shared her journey of confidence, determination, and personal growth, motivating students to believe in themselves and pursue their goals with purpose and passion. The session served as a valuable platform for empowering young minds and fostering a culture of self-belief and resilience

ACTIVITIES in  2020-2021

Revival 2022

IEEE SB Toc H in association with IEEE Kerala Section SIGHT  organized an event ‘REVIVAL’ on 5th March at Mithram School and Rehabilitation Centre as part of the National Science Week.

The event included a project expo, drone display and cultural by the students. As a social initiative, IEEE SB handed over two automatic hand sanitiser dispensers, developed by the students of Toc H to Mithram school.

Execomm 2022

The first EXECOM meeting of the new members for the academic year 2021-22 of the IEEE Student Branch of Toc H Institute of Science & Technology(IEEE SB Toc H)  was held at Ramanujam Hall on  February 18th, 2022. Toc H SB  Counsellor and RAS coordinator, Dr Deepa Elizabeth George, WIE coordinator Ms Dhanya R, and PES coordinator Ms Mangala Devi were present for the meeting.

IEEE chair Mr Sreesankar made a presentation on the roles and responsibilities of the various chapter leads followed by an interactive session of the execom.

The chapter advisors wished all success to the execom to encourage active participation of IEEE members and to bring up the SB to greater heights.

IEEE  SIGHT  Week celebrations April 2021  in association with TIST RAS & PES Student Branch Chapters & WIE 
  • SMARTY PINTS is a fun technical event. It is an event to bring out the creative minds among the engineering students. This event will definitely be a stress reliever for the students during this pandemic. The event is conducted in collaboration with RAS SBC TIST, PES SBC TIST and WIE TIST.
  • The participation can be individual or as a team of two.
  •  The competition will be conducted through WhatsApp.
  • The game consists of two qualifying rounds and the final round.
  •  The main focus of the event is to test the creative skills of the participants.
  • Participants are required to give engineering based funny captions for the images being shared within the limited time.
  • Judgement will be strictly based on creativity.

QUIZOPHILE is a quiz competition based on robotics and electronics. This event is a mind-cracking session that will help the students to bring out their extra knowledge into action. The event is conducted in collaboration with RAS SBC TIST, IEEE WIE TIST.

  • The participation is individual.
  • The competition is conducted through the Kahoot platform.
  • Questions are in MCQ format.
  • The timing of each question is based on the difficulty level.
  • The main focus of the event is to analyze the knowledge of participants in Robotics and Electronics.
  • The winners are selected on the basis of the minimum time and the maximum number of correct answers.

This is an information-based event in which the contestants use their collective brainpower to solve the questions. This will be a fun event as well. All you need is good thinking skills and some general knowledge. The participants will be able to test their creative skills by participating in this event. The event is conducted in collaboration with IEEE SIGHT TIST and WIE TIST as a part of SIGHT week.

      The event consists of 3 Rounds:

  1. Math puzzles and riddles: In this round, the participants will be given some tricky puzzles and brainteasers. 
  2. Technical questions and taglines: This round focuses on the participant’s technical knowledge and also, they will be given some famous brand or company taglines.
  3. Women in Science: This is a kind of general knowledge quiz fully based on women related to science.

CODIGO is a technical event to inspire the students to improve and showcase their amazing programming skills. This event also promotes the need for coding in the new and coming generations for the vast digital applications. This surely helps them to bring out their competitive skills along with the use of knowledge as a powerful tool. The event is conducted in collaboration with IEEE RAS TIST and the event is conducted as the inaugural event of RAS.

  • The participation was individual. 
  • The competition is conducted through the online platform Kahoot. 
  • The event consists of two levels: 

Level 1 is a selection level which was an MCQ quiz on coding basics 

Level 2 is a problem given the programming round. 

  • The main focus of the event is to enhance participant’s coding skills. 
  • Judgment will be strictly based on the correctness of the given codes.

QFiesta is a quiz competition based on power and energy. This event is a mind-cracking session that will help the students to bring out their extra knowledge into action. The event is conducted in collaboration with PES SBC TIST as a part of IEEE PES day 2021. It is conducted as the inaugural event of PES.

  • The quiz will be conducted on the Kahoot platform.
  • Quiz based on renewable energy and its applications.
  • Questions are of MCQ format
  • The timing of each question will be based on the difficulty level of the question.
  • The quiz’s main goal is to assess participant’s knowledge of clean renewable energy.
  • The participants must be online 10 mins before the commencement of the quiz.
  • The link to attend the quiz will be shared in the WhatsApp group.
  • The winner will be selected based on a maximum number of correct answers received in the shortest time.

ACTIVITIES in  2019-2020

To encourage the students to widen their technical knowledge, IEEE TIST SB conducted The Technical Quiz Competition as a part of Science Week on 03/03/2020 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Ramanujan Hall.

The first prize for this event was shared by Cliffin K Jose and Jitto P V, S6 ECE, Second prize was won by Simyon Thampi, S2 RA, and the Third prize by Manaswini, S6 ECE.

The monthly cycle of spectrum talk was held by IEEE TocH SB on the 5th of March 2020 at the DL in the Aryabhatta Block. It was attended by the executive committee of IEEE TIST. The speaker, Anna Treesa Bobby, S2 ECE, spoke briefly on the theory of Black Hole. Emphasis was given to the discovery and formation of Black and its first capture. It was an insightful and interactive session. The talk lasted 15 minutes and an additional 5 minutes was spent to clear any queries on the topic. Ex-Chair, Ajay Philip delivered the vote of Thanks. The session concluded with a discussion on the committee’s upcoming projects and activities.

The Blogging Competition, affiliated with the WIE week, was organized by the IEEE TIST SB from 17th of March 2020 till 23rd of March 2020. It was an online competition. 8 students participated.

They were asked to write a blog based on the theme of the week “’Lets Celebrate Her Colour’ .Darsana Venu, CSE, S6, TIST was announced as the winner.

Carpelibrum, the Technical Review writing competition, a pre-event writing competition held in association with the IEEE Kochi Hub as a part of the cluster event was organized by the IEEE TIST SB from 23rd March to 28th March 2020. The event was conducted Online. There were 38 participants. The participants were given the topic ‘Quantum Computing’ to write a review on. FIRST PRIZE for the event was bagged by Sayoojya KK, Govt.RIT, Kottayam, Cluster 1 and Second prize by Arjun Sunil Kumar, Rajagiri College Of Engineering and Technology, Cluster 7.

On behalf of Wie week, IEEE TIST SB conducted The Quiz Competition on 26/03/2020 through an online platform Kahoot. The Quiz was related to topics that include Women in engineering. A total of 18 students participated in this event. The first prize was won by Praveen Ratnakumar, EC, S2, TIST, the Second prize by Nikhita Marian Cherish, EC, TIST, and the Third prize by Anna Treesa Bobby, EC, S2, TIST.

The Aurkezpen competition, in context to the pandemic, was organized by the IEEE TIST SB from the 19th of May 2020 till 23rd of May 2020. It was an online competition. The students were asked to make a PowerPoint on the topic “proper disposal of masks and gloves”. The PowerPoint was also to include the guidelines/methods to prevent the spreading of the covid-19 virus. The winner for the event was Praveen Ratnakumar, ECE, S2, TIST.

WIE Summit 2019 was held in Toc H Institute of Science and technology dated on 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of July 2019 which had gathered students from across various engineering colleges of Kerala. The summit was a 3 day-long program, with various workshops that spread knowledge among the delegates, various fun-oriented activities, technical rounds and so on.

IEEE WOMEN IN ENGINEERING (WIE) is a global network of IEEE members and volunteers dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interest in a career in engineering and science.

The first-day welcomed a team of speakers from Prayaana, a unique employability, entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem for women. Ms. Chandra Vadhana, the founder and chief mentor at Prayaana and Founder and at 4Tunefactory.

The Mentorship Program for girls, an initiative of IEEE Kochi Hub which had begun during the WIE Week 2019 successfully completed its first phase of training with a hackathon on the first day of WIES 19. This year’s training was based on Web development and websites were created by the students on the problem: Travel page, Incredible India.

A session on “Introduction to Version Control System via Git and GitHub” was conducted.The session was conducted in association with IEEE ORE(Outreach for Resources in Engineering) community. Majority of the attendees were not aware of any VCS software before the session and this was able to give a broader view of the working of teams in the software-relatedindustry.

The workshop helped the students to come out of their comfort zones and interact with the students of various colleges. By means of various activities and tasks they were conveyed the importance of women in entrepreneurship and that they must break through the nutshell that pertains around them and open up. The session boosted up their confidence level as sensitive and delicate matters were taken care of and dealt in simple manner.

It was a very informative session that taught about the various different cyber attacks and the measures that can be taken to prevent them. The session mainly focused on Achievement of security by updating OS, Dark web, IP address, port no., protocols and packets.In addition to this they were also briefed on CYBER FORENSICS which marks itself as a sub branch of cyber security WI-FI cracking, Hashing tool, Virtualization, Mobile forensics

  1. Science Week: A Quiz program (spectrum) was organized for all the IEEE SB members as part of science week on 8th march 2019.The quiz basically gave its students a vague idea on “spaceX”. This program was actively participated by the 1st years and the 2nd years. The 1st prize was bagged by Sheethal Elizabeth, S2 ECE.
  2. A talk on spaceX: A talk was taken up  by Ashna Wilson of ECE S4 ,where the students were briefed about  spaceX  and their various space transportation sevices, conducted on 15th may 2019
  3. PES QUIZ: A Quiz competition was organized by the power electronic society on 10th October 2019. The quiz mainly emphasized on the current affairs, general knowledge, science and engineering and much more. The students were provided crucial 20 minutes to attempt the questions and at the end of this healthy competition 2 students namely Fenil sunny and Anoj reji from the Robotics and Automation engineering (1ST year) were awarded 1st and 2nd prizes respectively.
IEEE KOCHI HUB MEET 2018

The premier event of IEEE Kochi Hub KHM 18 was held at Toc H Institute of Science and technology on July 20, 21, 22.KHM as always was a full-fledged event for every technical aspirant. The footfall for the event overflowed 200 delegates. The event marked its beginning with an elegant inauguration with Mr. C Balagopal IAS as our chief guest along with Toc H Society President Dr.Alex Mathew, Dr. Preethi Thekkath, IEEE TIST SB Branch councelor Dr, Deepa Elizabeth George,Kochi Hub HSR Mr. Sahil Sameer,IEE TIST SB Chairperson Fathima Nafeesa V.Y on the dice. The event witnessed workshops that comprised of technical and managerial added with interactive sessions from many eminent personalities. The participants also enjoyed a DJ groove and a peaceful campfire night.

KHM 2018 was an extravaganza that was solely possible due to the zest and zeal of an ardent group of volunteers who put on their time and effort for its success. The passionate organizing group included the IEEE link team of Kochi Hub, IEEE student branch of Toc H Institute of Science and technology.

IEEE International Conference on Emerging Trends and Innovation in Engineering and Technological Research (ICETIETR 2018)

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized an IEEE International Conference on Emerging Trends and Innovation in Engineering and Technological Research (ICETIETR 2018) which was held from 11th to 13th July at TOC H Institute of Science and Technology, Arakkunnam, Eranakulam.

The International conference was inaugurated by honorable Vice Chancellor of CUSAT, Dr. J Letha on 11th July, 2018. The inaugural ceremony was presided by Dr. Alex Mathew (President, Toc H Public School Society). Dr. Deepa Elizabeth George (Conference General Chair & Head of ECE Department) addressed the gathering with a warm welcome. Dr. Hong Jer Lang (Chief Research Officer, Evault Technologies Sadn.Bhd. Malaysia) , Dr. Mini Ulanat (Chair, WIE AG of IEEE Kerala Section), Dr. R.Rajesh Kannan (Scientist, Center for Nano Science and Nanotechnology, Kalpakkam), Dr. R.Balaji (Scientist, Center for Fuel Cell Technology, ARCI, Chennai), and Mr. Shahim Baker (Secretary, IEEE Kerala Section) were the guests of honor. The conference was technically co-sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
