“Do not imagine that mathematics is harsh and crabbed, and repulsive to common sense. It’s merely an etherealization of common sense’’ – Lord Kevin

As Mathematics being Queen of all Sciences, this discipline has got its own importance in the curriculum of all streams of students on the campus.

The strength of the discipline is the uniqueness in the faculty wing exhibited by the existence of ‘Veteran’ in the field of Mathematics and rank holders, who energetically and enthusiastically contribute for the culminating performance of students.

MATHEMATICS ORIENTATION CLASS –TIST

  • Orientation programs in Mathematics for the first-year Btech students are organized every academic year where we polish all the important topics learned at high school that are required for their course.
  •
  • Special coaching for the lateral entry students is provided so that they can improve their mathematical foundations and would be able to move with their current semester.
  •
  • Special remedial and revision classes are organized during the exam time for all the students. Previous year question papers are discussed which would enhance the students to attempt the questions properly.
  •
  • Yearly, an All Kerala Inter Collegiate Mathematics Quiz is conducted for degree-level students from various colleges all over Kerala. A preliminary round is conducted by the Mathematics Department, TIST, to select the teams representing the college.
  •
  • Maths clubs are formed to boost the mathematical skills in the students that help them to breathe a new life into Math beyond classrooms.
  •
  • Supplementary students are given special care by providing them a 2-month revision of their respective papers covering the most important and frequently asked questions.
