Library Rules 

  • The library is open from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM on all working days (except Saturdays).
    On Saturdays, working hours are 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • All personal belongings such as textbooks, notebooks, files, bags, and umbrellas must be kept in the baggage counter.
    Only plain papers or notepads may be carried inside for taking notes.
  • Entry to the library is permitted only after scanning the ID Card at the e-Gate
  • Strict silence must be maintained inside the library at all times.
  • Books will be issued only upon submission of the ID card.
  • Users should check the condition of books before borrowing and report any damage to the Librarian.
    Penalty charges or the cost of damage will be collected for any loss or damage caused.
  • Each student may borrow 5 books at a time. Books must be returned within 14 days from the date of issue.
    Overdue returns will incur a late fee.
  • Books may be renewed for an additional 14 days, provided no other user has reserved them.
    More than 3 consecutive renewals will not be allowed.
    Users may renew books online through the KOHA Web OPAC after registration.
    Email notifications will be sent at the time of issue, return, renewal, and overdue reminders.
  • During study holidays before examinations, students may keep the issued books until the end of their exams.
  • Books in high demand may be recalled at any time.
  • Borrowed books are non-transferable.
  • Users must not damage books or other library materials.
    Tearing pages or mishandling books/magazines is strictly prohibited.
  • In case a borrowed book is lost or permanently damaged, the user must replace the book.
    If replacement is not possible, the cost of the book will be charged.
  • Books from the Reference Section must not be taken outside the library.
  • Periodicals and magazines will not be issued to students.
  • Students must follow the prescribed dress code while entering the Library Block.
    Those not wearing formal dress may be denied entry.
  • Combined study is not permitted inside the library.
  • All users are requested to co-operate for the smooth and efficient functioning of the library.
