FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS

Ms. Sreekala V M from Toc H Institute of Science and Technology participated in the programme titled “Beyond Code: Ethical AI, Emotional Intelligence and Technical Leadership” organized by the NDLI Club of the institution on March 6, 2026. The programme focused on the importance of ethical practices in Artificial Intelligence, the role of emotional intelligence, and the development of leadership skills in technical domains.

The sessions provided valuable insights into responsible AI usage, interpersonal skill development, and effective leadership strategies required for modern technology professionals.

Inter- departmental Basketball Tournament 2026

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering & Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EL/EE) Department delivered an impressive performance throughout the tournament, demonstrating excellent coordination, discipline, and determination in every match. The final match was held on 23rd March 2026, where EL/EE competed against the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) team. Key Player Contributions The team’s success was driven by outstanding performances from the following players:

Abhishek (S8), Geyon (S2), Aaron (S2), Abin (S2), Adam (S2), Gokul (S2)

These players demonstrated excellent skill, teamwork, and dedication, playing a crucial role in leading the department to the finals & they became the Runner ups of the tournament.

Academic Performance Achievement – S1 Results

As the Semester 1  results were announced, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, TIST, recognized the academic performance of students from the 2025–2029 batch. The initiative aimed to appreciate and encourage students for their dedication and achievements in academics. Among the students, Goutham Santhosh secured the highest SGPA of 8.84 and emerged as the topper. Other students who secured notable SGPA scores include Gouri Vinod (8.58), Ardra Samod (8.55), Megha Sam (8.37), Swathy R (8.21), Arunkumar E K (8.08), and Arpitha Pramod (8.03). Their performance reflects consistent effort, commitment, and a strong academic foundation.

Academic Performance Achievement – S6 Results

As the Semester 4 (S4) results were announced, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, recognized the academic performance of its students. The initiative aimed to appreciate and encourage students for their efforts and achievements in academics.

The students who secured notable SGPA scores include Susan Peter (SGPA 8) and Sooraj N S (SGPA 7.61). Their performance reflects dedication and consistent effort towards their studies.

Academic Performance Achievement – S4 Results

As the Semester 4 (S4) results were announced, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, recognized its prominent toppers as follows: Shanghani A (SGPA 8.84), Gervasis Geo K J (SGPA 8.78), Fazia Rayan (SGPA 8.28), and Alina Mariya M (SGPA 8.24).

Among them, Shanghani A secured the highest SGPA of 8.84 and emerged as the topper. The achievements of these students reflect their dedication, hard work, and commitment to academic excellence.

IEEE Student Paper Contest 2026

The major project titled “PARKNEX – A Solar Powered Autonomous Parking Robot,” developed by students of S8 Electrical and Computer Engineering, Toc H Institute of Science & Technology (TIST), Arakkunnam, was presented at the IEEE Student Paper Contest 2026. The event was organized by the IEEE Kochi Subsection and IEEE CCET Student Branch at Carmel College of Engineering & Technology, Punnapra, Alappuzha, on 13 March 2026. The paper was presented by Blessen Roy Philip on behalf of the project team, while the other team members were unable to attend the venue. The project team includes Sreelakshmi M. P, Blessen Roy Philip, Akshay Vinod, and Sanuja Sajeev, under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Anjumol C. S, Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering.

The paper proposes an innovative solar-powered autonomous robotic parking system designed to address urban parking challenges through intelligent navigation and automated vehicle handling.

  1. Congratulations to Ms. Malavika of S4 EL, Ms. Fathima Sherin, Mr. Sitaram Bist, and Mr. John Abraham of S6 EL, along with their team, for securing First Prize in the Handball Tournament conducted under the KTU D Zone at KMEA Engineering on 03-02-2026. Following this achievement, the team represented the zone at the Kerala Inter-Zonal KTU Handball Tournament held at Kollam on 06-02-2026. This commendable accomplishment stands as a testament to their dedication, teamwork, and sporting excellence, bringing pride and recognition to the institution.

2. Congratulations to Mr. Nandu Varghese of S6 EL securing Second Prize in Web Aakriti: Build a Website, held on 20-02-2026 at Jabagadadash 6.0, the International Inter-University Fest organized by Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth (CVV).

3. Students from S6 ELE, participated in the Ernakulam Cluster Level Hackathon conducted as part of the IEDC Startup Summit 2026 on 24th February 2026. The team comprising Fathima Sherin, Ajin K Jayan, Nandu S Varghese, and Andrew Ulahannan Biju presented their project idea titled “AquaVita – Smart Life Jacket with SOS and Location Beacon.” The project was developed under the theme Maritime Security & Safety Technologies, focusing on enhancing safety measures for individuals in water through smart emergency alert and location tracking features. The hackathon provided students with a platform to showcase innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges in maritime safety and security.

4. Student Project Shortlisted at Electric World 2026

The project titled “PARKNEX – Solar Powered Autonomous Parking System” developed by students of S8 Electrical & Computer Engineering from Toc H Institute of Science and Technology was shortlisted among the Top 12 projects for presentation at the Electric World 2026 Inter Collegiate Project Contest organized by Kerala State Small Industries Association (KELCON). The event was held on 28 February 2026 at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium. The team comprising Sreelakshmi M. P, Blessen Roy Philip, Akshay Vinod, and Sanuja Sajeev successfully presented their innovative solution aimed at addressing urban parking challenges through AI-based navigation, robotic vehicle handling, and solar-powered charging. The project was guided by Assoc. Prof. Anjumol C. S . The achievement highlights the students’ innovative thinking and commitment to developing sustainable and technology-driven solutions.

6. Ardra Samod T,Aleena Shaji, Athira Shylesh and Sreeda C, S2 ELE students secured Second Prize in Oppana at Mudra. The achievement highlights the students’ talent and active participation in cultural activities.

7. From S2 ELE, Sreehari J, secured First Prize in Nadanpattu  at Mudra. The achievement highlights the students’ talent and active participation in cultural activities.

8. From S2 ELE, Megha Sam, won prizes in the following programs: Sports-(100m -3rd prize,200m-2nd prize) &  Second prize in -thiruvathira as part of MUDRA. Congratulations on her achievements.

9. Ciril C. Reji (S6 ELE) secured First Prize, and Ajin K. Jayan and Sahad Bin Mirsad (S6 ELE) secured Second Prize in the Painting Relay competition, as part of Mudhra’26.Congratulations on their achievements.

10. Alan Roy and Aravind N. S.  secured First Prize in the Movie Quiz competition conducted as part of VIDHYUTH’26, the National Level Tech Fest organized by the Department. The winners were awarded a cash prize of ₹1000 for their outstanding performance in the event.

11. As part of Mudhra’26, Nandu S. Varghese from S6 ELE secured First Prize in Malayalam Elocution and First Prize in Western Guitar, showcasing outstanding talent in both literary and musical events. The achievement highlights the student’s active participation and excellence in cultural activities.

12. Abin Samuel, Adam Antony, from S2 ELE secured first position in “Voltage Volta”, as part of VIDHYUTH’26 technical event fest. Congratulations to their dedication and commitment to the programs.

13. Sreehari J, S2 EEE, attended a hands-on workshop titled “PCB Designing with PCB Milling Machine” at Fab Lab Kerala, Kazhakkoottam, Thiruvananthapuram, on 21 February 2026 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The workshop was organized by Fab Lab Kerala in collaboration with Kerala Startup Mission. During the session, he learned the basics of PCB design using Autodesk EAGLE and understood the importance of proper circuit layout and routing. The instructors demonstrated how PCB milling machines convert digital circuit designs into physical printed circuit boards. Participants were also introduced to drilling, milling, and soldering processes involved in PCB fabrication. The workshop provided valuable practical exposure to electronics hardware development and rapid prototyping techniques.

FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS

1. Ms. Mangala Devi K. T., HoD, Department of ELE, visited the International Energy Festival of Kerala 2026 (IEFK – 3rd Edition) on February 8, 2026. The exhibition featured stalls from various electrical manufacturers, demonstrations on the assembly of BLDC fans, project presentations, and several technical sessions.

2. Ms. Mangala Devi K. T., HoD, Department of ELE participated in a Six-Day Faculty Development Programme titled “Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing” organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the institution from 2nd to 7th February 2026. The programme focused on recent developments and sustainable practices in materials and manufacturing technologies. The sessions provided valuable insights into modern manufacturing techniques, sustainable material usage, and emerging research trends in the field.

 

  1. Kho-Kho Tournament conducted under the KTU D Zone.

Congratulations to Ms. Megha Sam of S2 EL and her team for securing Second Prize in the Kho-Kho Tournament conducted under the KTU D Zone. This remarkable achievement reflects their dedication, teamwork, and sporting excellence, bringing pride and recognition to the institution.

  • First Place was secured by Team DELULU from Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology, comprising Joyal Jose J, Aswin S, Abhinav C, and Anand Nambiar, for their excellent performance throughout the competition.

  1. Arts Fest Branding – MUDRA 2026

Mr. Gervasis Geo, of S4 EL, actively participated in the name suggestion competition for the college Arts Fest group MUDRA 2026. His creative suggestions—Agni, Tarang, Utsav, and Raaga—were well appreciated, and his entry was selected as the winning submission. In recognition of his creativity and contribution, he was awarded a cash prize, bringing credit and pride to the institution.

  1. Republic Day Poster Design Competition

Mr. Gervasis Geo K J of S4 EL won the Republic Day Poster Design Competition with his creative entry themed “Designing the Constitution with Creativity.” His artwork beautifully captured the spirit and values of the Indian Constitution, blending artistic expression with patriotic significance. The winning poster showcased originality, thoughtful design, and a strong national message, earning him the Winner title and bringing pride to the department and institution.

Faculty Achievements 
  1. Dr. Preethi Thekkath, Principal, TIST, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Anjumol C. S of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering have published a research article in the Australian Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, a Scopus-indexed journal published by Taylor & Francis.

The paper, titled “Application of Double Integral Sliding Mode–Controlled KY Converter for Efficient Solar EV Charging,” presents the design and analysis of a robust control framework employing a Double Integral Sliding Mode Control (DISMC) strategy applied to a KY DC–DC converter for solar-based electric vehicle charging. The research contributes to the fields of power electronics and renewable energy integration by enhancing control performance, efficiency, and reliability in solar EV charging systems.

  1. Prof. Sreekala V M successfully attended an online training/webinar on “IEEE Xplore”, organized by TOCH Institute of Science and Technology in association with EBSCO Information Services, an IEEE Authorized Dealer. The session provided valuable insights into effective usage of the IEEE Xplore digital library, including advanced search techniques, access to scholarly journals, conference proceedings, and research resources. The training enhanced the participant’s understanding of academic research tools and promoted efficient retrieval of technical literature for study and research purposes.
  1. Prof. Sreekala V M successfully attended an online training/webinar on “EBSCO eBooks/ECM”, organized by TOCH Institute of Science and Technology in association with EBSCO Information Services. The session provided valuable insights into the effective use of EBSCO’s digital resources, including access to eBooks, electronic content management, and advanced search features. The training enhanced the participant’s understanding of academic information resources and supported efficient retrieval of scholarly content for teaching, learning, and research purposes.
  1. Prof. Sreekala V M successfully completed an online course titled “Fundamentals of Electric Vehicles” offered by Udemy. The course, instructed by Tanzeel Ur Rehman, provided foundational knowledge on electric vehicle technologies, including basic principles, components, and emerging trends in EV systems. The training enhanced the participant’s understanding of sustainable transportation technologies and contributed to professional development in the area of electric and hybrid vehicles.
  1. Lakshmi S. Dutt, Assistant Professor of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, is a patent contributor to a registered design titled “IoT Based Device for Fruit Freshness Detection.” The design has been officially registered under the Designs Act, 2000 and Designs Rules, 2001, in Class 10-05, bearing Design No. 481727-001, with the registration date 26/11/2025. The patented work focuses on the application of IoT technology for monitoring and detecting fruit freshness, contributing to advancements in smart sensing and food quality management systems. This achievement reflects her active involvement in innovation, research, and technology-driven solutions.
TIST IEDC Participation at IEDC Summit 2025

TIST IEDC actively participated in the IEDC Summit 2025 (22-12-2025),  held at LBS College of Engineering. The event provided a platform for engaging with innovators, exchanging ideas, and strengthening the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation. Mr. Ajin K Jayan,  S6 Electrical and Computer Engineering (ELE), represented the department and actively participated in the summit. The participation contributed to enhanced exposure to startup ecosystems and innovation-driven initiatives.

  1. KSEB POWER QUIZ

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is delighted to announce the achievement of AnnBell Rose C. J., who has been selected to participate in the District-Level Round of the KSEB Power Quiz 2025.

She successfully cleared the Institution-Level Preliminary Round, conducted as part of the statewide Power Quiz organized by the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), aimed at promoting awareness on the energy sector. The preliminary round was held on 6th November 2025, and students from across the institution took part with great enthusiasm.

AnnBell Rose C. J. proudly represented Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST) at the district-level competition on 4th December 2025.

  • HoD, Asst. Prof. Mangala Devi (ELE) participated in a Six-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Sustainable Smart Energy and Mobility”, held from 21st to 27th November 2025.

The program was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT), Angamaly.The FDP offered a focused platform for in-depth learning and professional development in key areas such as renewable energy integration, smart energy systems, and the emerging landscape of sustainable transportation and mobility.

  • Lakshmi S Dutt, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST), successfully participated in a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “AI IN ACTION: EMPOWERING FACULTY WITH NEXT-GEN TOOLS FOR TEACHING AND RESEARCH.”

The FDP, conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the College of Engineering Kottarakkara, IHRD, Govt. of Kerala, was held from November 17th to 21st, 2025. This specialized program focused on equipping educators with cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and practical strategies to enhance both teaching pedagogy and academic research output.

  • Participation in World Standards Day Walkathon 2025

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the National Standards Body of India under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, celebrated World Standards Day 2025. In connection with this, the BIS Kochi Branch organized the World Standards Day Walkathon 2025 on 18th October (Saturday).

As part of the Standard Club initiative, a team of students and faculty from Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST) enthusiastically participated in the event, promoting the theme of “Walk for Quality 2025.”

Faculty achievements 

Lakshmi S. Dutt, an Assistant Professor, ELE has successfully completed a Faculty Development Program organized by the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy. The program, titled “Securing the Future: Cyber-Physical Systems and Cybersecurity in the Digital Age,” was hosted at St. Claret College. This professional training took place over six days, spanning from December 8, 2025, to December 13, 2025. This achievement highlights the professor’s commitment to advancing her expertise in the critical fields of cybersecurity and digital systems.

Anju Mathew, an Assistant Professor, ELE has successfully completed an AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy Faculty Development Program. The program, titled “Renewable Energy Systems and Grid Integration: Technologies, Challenges & Solutions,” was hosted at MEA Engineering College in Perinthalmanna. This comprehensive training was conducted over six days, from December 1, 2025, to December 6, 2025. The certificate of completion was issued under the authority of the program coordinator at MEA Engineering College and the Director of the Training and Learning Bureau at AICTE. This achievement marks a significant step in enhancing her professional expertise in sustainable energy technologies and modern grid solutions.

Sreekala V M, an Assistant Professor, ELE, has successfully completed an AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy Faculty Development Program. The program, titled “Smart Cities and Future Mobility: Technologies, Policies, and Practices,” was hosted at Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering & Technology. This professional training took place over six days, from December 1, 2025, to December 6, 2025.  This achievement underscores her dedication to advancing her knowledge in urban technology and modern mobility solutions.

Asst. Prof. Sreekala V M attended a five-day online Faculty Development Programme on “Electrical Engineering and Beyond: Research Prospects”, organized by the Department of EEE, Bishop Jerome Institute, from 7th to 11th July 2025.

Dr. Mangala Devi K T, HoD, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, TOC H Institute of Science & Technology, successfully completed a 40-hour Online Faculty Development Program on “From Transformation to Protection: Mastering Cybersecurity Challenges in Digital Era”.The program, held from 5th to 14th July 2025, was organized by Electronics & ICT Academy, NIT Warangal, in association with IIIT Kottayam, and sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

Ms. Anjumol C. S., Associate Professor, ELE, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, has successfully participated and completed the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy Faculty Development Program on “Emerging Trends in Electric Vehicle Ecosystem: Power Electronics, AI, and Sustainable Mobility”, organized by Christ College of Engineering from 18th August 2025 to 23rd August 2025. 

4. Edu Summit
Mrs Anjumol C S , Associate Professor,dept of EL, attended the CoreEL Edu Summit 3.0 held at Radisson Blu, Kochi on 21st August 2024. The seminar theme was “Explore the Future of Autonomous Systems”, and it provided valuable insights into the advancements in autonomous technologies, system design, and future applications.
5. Kerala State Energy Conservation Awards Sensitization Workshop 2025
Ms. Mangala Devi K.T, HOD, Electrical & Computer Engineering, TIST, attended the Kerala State Energy Conservation Awards Sensitization Workshop 2025 held on Saturday, 20th September 2025.
The workshop began with a presentation on the Energy Conservation Awards 2025 Guidelines, followed by a session on last year’s award winners and their best practices. Presentations were delivered by representatives from The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd., Cochin, Peekay Steel Casting Pvt. Ltd., Kozhikode, VKL Seasonings Pvt. Ltd., Alappuzha, and Mar Sleeva Medicity, Palai.
Further, the Lulu IT Twin Towers Technical Team shared insights into their sustainable energy practices, and a special session on Sustainable Architecture was conducted by Tropical Greenovation Cluster, Cochin
6. Ms. Mangaladevi K. T, HoD, ELE participated in a 5-Day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Frontiers in Smart Energy, Technical Communication and Sustainable Innovation”, organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mangalam College of Engineering, Kottayam. The FDP was conducted from 23rd to 27th September 2025 and provided valuable insights into advancements in smart energy systems, effective technical communication, and sustainable innovation practices.
7.  Ms. Sreekala V. M., Assistant Professor, ELE , participated in a Five-Day Online Faculty Development Programme on “Frontiers in Smart Energy, Technical Communication and Sustainable Innovation” organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mangalam College of Engineering, Kottayam, from 23rd to 27th September 2025 and gained deeper understanding of emerging trends in smart and sustainable energy systems.

8. Ms. Aeliswa Raju, Assistant Professor, ELE , participated in a Five-Day Online Faculty Development Programme on “Frontiers in Smart Energy, Technical Communication and Sustainable Innovation” organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mangalam College of Engineering, Kottayam, from 23rd to 27th September 2025 and acquired insights into innovative practices for energy efficiency and green technologies.

Students Achievements 

1. Startup Rise 2025 – Prototyping Workshop 
Saaniga Santhosh, Akhila S Pillai, Devika S Menon, Fazia Rayan from S3 ELE, TIST attended Startup Rise 2025, organized by IEDC at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science, Varikoli, on September 12–13, 2025. The event featured sessions on idea generation by Prof. Sunil Paul, prototyping workshops by Mr. Sreerag S and Mr. Adrin Jose CT, and talks on startup challenges and marketing by Mr. Deepu Xavier and Mr. Ajay Basil. Key highlights included Failures Night and the Mini Shark Tank, which provided us with valuable exposure to the startup ecosystem and inspired innovative thinking.
2. Intercollege 18 hour Hackathon 
The teams of Susan Peter, Sooraj N S, Paulson C and Rahul Thadathil, Benyamin Aby, and Andrew Ulahannan Biju from S5 ELE, TIST, had the privilege of participating in Takshak’25’s Core Event – HackTillDawn’25, an 18-hour Intercollege Hackathon conducted at MACE, Kothamangalam on September 25–26, 2025. The event brought together creative minds from various institutions, challenging participants to innovate, collaborate, and code through the night. It provided an inspiring platform to push our limits, strengthen our problem-solving skills, and experience the dynamic environment of competitive innovation.
3. Workshop on Introduction to Machine Learning at IIT Palakkad 
Electrical and Computer Engineering students Swathy R, Sreeda C, Anowshka Lakshmi , Yaseen Nizar, Midhun, Arun kumar, Geyon Kurisingal attended a workshop on Introduction to Machine Learning at IIT Palakkad on 27th September.The session provided an overview of the fundamental concepts of machine learning and introduced simple programs that form its foundation. Students also gained valuable insights into the real-world applications of machine learning and its growing significance across various fields.
4. IEEE Aeroflight Program at NIT Calicut
Six students from S3 ELE, TIST attended the IEEE Program held at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut on September 20, 2025. The students who took part were Shanghani A, Alina Mariya Mathew, Nivedya Suresh, Mohammed Rizwan, Muhammed Sinan, and Sreehari.
As part of the event, the students actively participated in the Aeroflight Program, which offered practical exposure to the fundamentals of aerodynamics, design considerations in unmanned aerial vehicles, and flight control mechanisms. Through hands-on sessions and team activities, they learned about the importance of balancing theoretical knowledge with real-time problem solving.The program also emphasized innovation, collaboration, and critical thinking, encouraging participants to apply engineering concepts to real-world challenges.

  1. Shanghani A, S3 student of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department, completed an internship at STEM Robotics, Trivandrum an organization focused on promoting STEM education through practical robotics training. The internship aimed to provide hands-on experience in robotics and automation, enhance programming and assembly skills, and foster collaboration in workshops conducted for school students. 
  2. Students Abhijith T R, Akhila S Pillai, Devika S Menon, Nivedya Suresh, and Anakha Biju of the S3 Electrical and Computer Engineering department successfully completed their internship at KEL (Kerala Electrical and Allied Engineering Company Ltd), Ernakulam. During the internship, they gained valuable insights into the functioning of electrical machinery, industrial systems, and manufacturing processes.
  3. Aravind N S, Alan Roy, Malavika Ajesh, Devikrishna KB,S3  students of the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, successfully completed a summer internship at the 110 kV Substation Vaikom from 16th June to 20th June 2025. During the training, they gained hands-on experience with the functioning and components of a 110 kV substation, including power transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, current and potential transformers, and SCADA systems.
  4. Saniga Santhosh, S3 student of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, has successfully completed an internship at the 110kV Substation located in Thazhe Chovva, Kannur, Kerala. During the internship, she gained valuable hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of high-voltage equipment, load management, and substation safety protocols.

*Advancing Innovation in Assistive Technology* – Project Presented at IEEE CCET Student Paper Contest 2025

We are proud to introduce our product innovation:

*”EMG-Integrated Prosthetic Arm with Voice Recognition for Enhanced Amputee Assistance”* – a dual-control assistive device developed to restore independence and functionality to upper-limb amputees.

This next-generation prosthetic combines Electromyography  and voice recognition technologies to enable multimodal, intuitive control. Users can seamlessly switch between muscle-driven control and voice-activated commands, ensuring adaptability for varying muscle strengths and fatigue levels. Upto 98% control accuracy while maintaining a significantly lower cost than existing commercial prosthetic solutions.

Asst.Prof. Anjumol C S, department of Electrical and Computer Engineering successfully participated in a 5-day Online Faculty Development Programme on “Research Article Writing Using LaTeX & Biomedical Research: Current Trends & Application,” organized by Al Ameen Engineering College, Palakkad from 13th to 18th June 2025.
  2. IEEE International Conference – ACCESS 2025 (June 2025)Asst.Prof. Anjumol C S successfully presented a research paper titled “A Study on PSO and CSA MPPT with DISMC Controlled Synchronous Boost Converter for PV-Based EV Charging” at the IEEE International Conference ACCESS’25, held at Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology from 11th to 13th June 2025.
  3. Asst.Prof. Anjumol C S successfully participated in a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Modern Control Systems – Techniques and Analysis,” organized by the Department of EEE, St. Thomas College of Engineering & Technology, Kozhuvalloor, from 17th to 21st June 2025.
  4. Asst.Prof. Aeliswa Raju, department of Electrical and Computer Engineering successfully participated in a Workshop cum Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Statistics, Machine Learning, and Optimization for Scientific Research”, held from June 26 to June 30, 2025.
  5. The FDP was organized by the Department of Computational Science and Humanities at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kottayam. This academic initiative aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in the domains of data analytics, machine learning, and optimization techniques, with a focus on their applications in scientific research.
  6. Asst.Prof. Ansar Jamal was actively participated in a Six-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “From Green to Hydrogen: Exploring Sustainable Energy Evolution”. The programme was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology (ASIET), Kalady, Ernakulam, Kerala. It was held from June 23 to June 28, 2025, and focused on advancing faculty knowledge and awareness in the field of sustainable energy, with particular emphasis on the transition from green energy sources to hydrogen-based solutions.
  7. Lakshmi S. Dutt of TOC H Institute of Science and Technology successfully completed a six-day online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the topic “Agentic AI and Large Language Models,” held from May 3 to May 9, 2025. The program was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the College of Engineering and Management, Punnapra, under the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE), established by the Government of Kerala. The FDP aimed to enhance the understanding and teaching capabilities of faculty members in the emerging areas of artificial intelligence, with a special focus on agent-based systems and large language models
KTU B.Tech Semester 8 Results

Congratulations to the outstanding students of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Toc H Institute of Science & Technology (TIST), Arakkunnam, for their exceptional academic performance in the KTU B.Tech S8 examinations (2021–2025 Batch). Akshaya Mohan led the batch with a perfect SGPA of 10 and an impressive CGPA of 9.33, followed by Krishna Santhosh (SGPA: 9.29, CGPA: 8.27), Fiona Mary C N (SGPA: 9.03, CGPA: 8.4), and other top achievers including Basil J Thomas, Anaksha Subhash, Amina Neha M H, and Aswin Shaji. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment have brought laurels to the department and serve as an inspiration to their peers. IEEE FLAME MENTORING MEET AT JAIN UNIVERSITY 

As part of IEEE 2025 MENTORING EVENT, S6 ELE Students Sreelekshmi M P, Athulya P P, Jeevan Antony, S2 ELE students, Alina Maria, Shanghani, Sreehari attended the IEEE FLAME Mentoring meet at Jain deemed University 

It was an enriching platform for students to interact with experienced professionals and mentors from various engineering and technology domains. The session helped students enhance their leadership and communication skills, build strong networks, and get guidance on academic and career paths. It served as a great opportunity for personal and professional growth.

As part of Tech Fest VIDHYUTH 202  organised by the Department of ELE &  the Blitz Student Association, conducted a Treasure Hunt

Participants have to uncover the hidden treasures by solving the riddles and hurdles along the way.All participants will be provided with E- certificates and KTU activity points. S4 EEE Students won the hunt and got the cashprize.

2. TECHNICAL FEST- VIDHYUTH – BEST ENGINEER

As part of Tech Fest VIDHYUTH 202  organised by the Department of ELE &  the Blitz Student Association, conducted a Best Engineer Program. Participants have to work together to solve the riddles given by the authorities.

All participants will be provided with E- certificates and KTU activity points. S6 ELE Students won program and got the cashprize.

3. TECHNICAL FEST- VIDHYUTH – Concept Presentation and Chess competition Winners

In Accordance with the TechFest, Vidhyuth organised by the Department of ELE &  the Blitz Student Association, conducted “Concept Presentation” program and Chess competition,S6 ELE student, Akshay Vinod and S4 ELE student, Nandu Varghese secured their first positions and cash prizes respectively in each program.

4. TECHNICAL FEST- VIDHYUTH -Chitram- Movie and Music Quiz Competition

In Accordance with the TechFest, Vidhyuth organised by the Department of ELE &  the Blitz Student Association, conducted “CHITRAM”  a movie and musical quiz program ,S6 ELE student Rohan Juby secured his first position and cash prizes.

5. ANNUAL ATHELETIC MEET – ACHIEVEMENTS

S4 ELE student Sooraj N S and S6 ELE student Jordan T Jose participated and secured the achievements in the atheletic meet of TocH Engineering College.Sooraj secured two 2nd positions and one third position in race, first position in long jump , Jordan secured  three 1st positions in race.

Mrs. Mangala Devi K T, HOD (I/c ELE) and Assistant Professor at TOC H Institute of Science and Technology, successfully participated in and completed a Faculty Development Program on Sustainable Manufacturing and Advanced Automation in Industries conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under the ATAL (AICTE Training and Learning) Academy. The program was conducted at Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang, from February 24, 2025, to March 1, 2025.

2. It certifies that Mrs. Lakshmi S. Dutt, an Assistant Professor of TocH Institute of Science and Technology  participated and successfully completed the professional development program titled “Advanced Techniques in AI and ML”. Certificate issued by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy.

SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF KTU-CERD RESEARCH SEED MONEY PROJECT

Dr. Aishwarya V, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering successfully implemented the Project entitled “A Solar PV-fed Reduced Switch Extendable-Level Inverter (RSELI) for Sustainable Rural Development” funded by the KTU-CERD Research Seed Money scheme, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Trivandrum.

Congratulations to our student, Mr. Joshua Viswas Santhosh, an 8th semester Electrical and Computer Engineering student, on securing an internship at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited – Bangalore.

She has secured the award for “Best MATHWORKS project” of Rs 10,000 and special memento from MATHWORKS for winner in “Best project using Matlab and Simulink” under the analytical project category for the work  “An integrated framework for grid connected Solar EV charging system” guided by Prof.(Dr) .Preethi Thekkath

UBA Research Project Grant – Awarded a research project grant of Rs.80000/- for the project “Solar Photovoltaic Bubble Dryer” under the Renewable Energy Scheme (RES) of Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan, Govt. of India. This project is implemented for the Edakkattuvayal Grama Panchayat, Ernakulam district, Kerala.

Asst.
