Library & Information Center
The TIST Library supports the education mission of the college by discerning and fulfilling the information needs of its diverse user community. The main library, located centrally, facilitates easy access to all user communities, along with MBA and Digital libraries and 10 other department reference libraries. The 10000 square feet library provides a wide range of services. The full-fledged library with its automated library system is fully equipped to meet any requirements of all information seekers. The library services to the students and faculty are made available through Vivekananda Central, Sarabhai Digital & C K Prahalad MBA Libraries.
All the library functions are managed and regulated by the Vivekananda Central Library.
It follows an open access system. Books are arranged in Dewey Decimal Classification System. KOHA software is used in the computerization of the library. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) helps the students to easily access the books and other materials in the library within seconds. Web based Online Public Access Catalogue (WEB OPAC) system is also incorporated. Bar-coded Identity card is issued to all users. Punching system for faculty members and Hand-free Barcode reader for students are installed at the entrance. Surveillance cameras help to regulate the movement of the users in the library.
A well- arranged Digital Library with 25 systems and a projector with screen and speakers help the users to view e-facilities and ensure video conferencing facility which is used for guest lectures by foreign professors and industry experts. Digital Library can also be accessed anywhere on the campus.
We have a separate library for Management Studies (MBA) with rich collections of books arrayed in reference and lending sections. The library is an extension of the central library and is housed adjacent to the Department of Management Studies.
The NAAC peer team that inspected the library facilities and services rated them as “Excellent”.
