Yi (Young Indians)
Young Indians (Yi) is an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non- Government, non-profit Industry led and Industry managed organization playing a proactive role in India’s development process. The TIST Yi was formed in the year 2002 with an objective of creating a platform for the young Indians to realize the dream of a developed nation. It has around 1500 direct members in 12 chapters and engages around 8300 students through the student nets.
Yi membership includes young progressive Indians and comprises of entrepreneurs, professionals and achievers from different walks of life. “To become the Voice of Young Indians Globally” is the vision of Yi. It provides a platform for young Indians to participate in and contribute to by becoming an integral part of the Indian growth story. Yi’s work can be divided primarily into three groups: Youth Leadership, Youth Social Entrepreneurship and International Engagement.
The TIST Yi unit contributed a fumigation machine and other useful items to the Government Hospital Mulanthuruthy hospital ,like sanitizer, gloves and masks worth ₹20000.
The Yi TIST unit donated notebooks and other stationaries worth ₹12000 to the needful students of the Mulanthuruthy Panchayat.
Yi TIST unit donated a smartphone to the Edakattuvayal Panchayat President, to be given to a student, for their online classes.
Flood relief support to Wayanad 2019
The Young Indian unit of our college collected contributions from college students, like groceries, stationery, food items, clothes, sanitary items, etc.) and was distributed at Wayanad by our Yi members.
Under Nation Building, Yi engages its members under the broad categories of education environment, healthcare, employability, arts (sports& culture) and rural initiatives contributing positively to its surrounding eco system and the nation.
