Department of Computer Science & Engineering, in association with Core.AI Club, Lifosys and AiiLab, organized an online webinar titled “Unlock Your Future: Dive into AI & Gen AI” on 29 November 2025. The webinar featured Pranav Krishna Vadhyar (AI Consultant, HashRoot; Founder, Core.AI) and Saleem P. O. (CEO, Lifosys; Founder, AiiLab), and focused on “Future-Ready with AI: Career pathways for students,” open to learners from all streams and institutions.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, played host to a three-day AICTE ATAL VAANI Sponsored Workshop on “Gen AI and Data Science: Shaping the Language of Tomorrow’s World” during Nov 26-28, 2025. Build Your Own AI Assistant [18 October 2025]
The Department of CSE, in association with the IEEE Student Branch, organized an online session titled “Build Your Own AI Assistant” on October 18, 2025. Mr. Alosh Denny, AI Consultant at Discern Security, led an interactive hands-on workshop using the Gemini API and Google Colab, where participants explored AI model creation, agent workflow development with the GPT-5 model, and the use of various integration tools.

Study Jam 3: Introduction to Drone Development & Hardware [24 September 2025]
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in collaboration with TinkerHub, organized a Study Jam session on “Introduction to Drone Development & Hardware Fundamentals” on September 24, 2025. The session was led by Sreehari Nandhanan (S3 EC) and hosted by Abhinav P(S5 CSE) , Fidhaan Aameer (S3 CSE), Sreehari Nandhanan, and Fathima Sherin(S5 EC). Designed for first-year CSE students, the session introduced participants to the fundamentals of drone technology and hardware systems. The event concluded successfully, sparking curiosity and encouraging students to engage in innovative, hands-on projects.

As part of FOSS Orientation Day, a Hands-on Ubuntu Installation Workshop was conducted on 19th September 2025, organized by the FOSS Cell at department of CSE in collaboration with ICFOSS, with active participation from students, faculty, and campus ambassadors.
Study Jams[13 & 14 September 2025]
Study Jams, a 2-day online learning series by TinkerHub, CSE department, was held in the evenings of 13th & 14th September 2025 from 7:30–8:30 PM and brought practical tech skills to students in an engaging way. On Day 1, Muhammed Sahil (S7 CSE, IEEE SB Webmaster) led a hands-on session on Git, GitHub, and VS Code. On Day 2, Arjun A (S5 CSE, Web & AI Enthusiast) introduced participants to HTML and the art of website building. The sessions created an interactive space for learners to gain essential developer skills and kickstart their journey in coding.

O Penn Mic: Me, Myself & My AI [8 September 2025]
O Penn Mic: Me, Myself & My AI was held online on 8th September 2025, creating a safe and empowering space for girls to share ideas and explore how AI can be a study buddy, creative sidekick, and more. Hosted by the department of CSE, TinkerHub Toc H Kochi and led by Deva Nanda Nair (CSE S5), the session combined open discussions with a fun hands-on mini project where participants built their own AI chatbot.
Sadhya of Ideas: Intro to Chatbots [4 September 2025]
Sadhya of Ideas: Intro to Chatbots was held online on 4th September 2025, blending the festive spirit of Onam with tech learning. Hosted by the department of CSE, TinkerHub Toc H Kochi, the session introduced participants to the basics of chatbots—their working, applications, and how to start building one. Led by Arjun A (CSE S5), the event engaged beginners and curious tech enthusiasts alike, offering practical insights into the world of conversational AI. Toc H Institute of Science and Technology has taken a major step toward enhancing industry-academia collaboration by signing an MoU with Lifosys Digital Systems Pvt. Ltd. on 4th July 2025. BluePrints 2025: Business Canvas & IP Expo
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully hosted BluePrints 2025: Business Canvas & IP Expo 26th April 2025. This vibrant event showcased the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of first-year B.Tech students, marking the culmination of their course, “Engineering Entrepreneurship and IPR.” Students presented innovative business model canvases, tech-driven prototypes, and practical solutions addressing real-world challenges. The expo highlighted their journey from ideation to implementation, emphasizing intellectual property rights and strategic thinking. The event celebrated young innovators poised to shape tomorrow’s enterprises through technology, creativity, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship.

Captive the core of C Live Project Building Session
From 19th March to 17th April 2025, the Code Catalyst Club of the Computer Science and Engineering Department conducted a Live C Programming Project Building Session as part of the C Program Learning Series. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, Arakkunnam, in association with the Computer Society of India (CSI), organized a National Level Intercollegiate Technical Fest ‘TECH FOSS 2025’ on 1st March 2025. The “Tech for Everyday Life: Automating Tasks with JavaScript” workshop, held on February 12, 2025, as part of ADVAY 2025, was successfully organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology. Led by Adithyan Jayakumar (Project Engineer, appmaker.xyz), the session focused on using JavaScript to automate repetitive tasks, enhancing productivity. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering conducted a workshop on Python for All on 1st February 2025, as part of Advay 2025, in collaboration with Core.ai and CodeCatalyst Club. The session covered key Python concepts and applications. B Pranav Krishna Vadhyar (S8 CSE, Lead – Core.ai) introduced Python basics, while T N Harivinayak (S4 CSE, Innovation Lead – CodeCatalyst) led a session on Object Detection. Deva Nanda Nair (S4 CSE, Co-Lead – Core.AI & Tech Lead – CodeCatalyst) covered Streamlit. The workshop provided valuable insights, enhancing participants’ programming and AI development skills.
GenAI Workshop
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering successfully hosted a GenAI Workshop on January 28, 2025, as part of Advay 2025, the National Level Intercollegiate Techno-Cultural Festival, in collaboration with the Core.AI Club. TINK-HER-HACK 3.0
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, in association with IIC, IEEE, and TinkerHub, successfully organized THINK-HER-HACK 3.0, Kerala’s largest women’s hackathon, on January 24-25, 2025. This third edition of the prestigious event provided a platform for women in technology to showcase their innovation, problem-solving skills, and technical expertise.
Participants engaged in intensive coding, brainstorming sessions, and hands-on development, creating solutions to real-world challenges. The hackathon featured expert mentorship, and networking opportunities, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment. The event saw exceptional projects, with top teams from CSE securing first, second, and third positions.
This initiative aimed to bridge the gender gap in technology, promote inclusivity, and inspire women to take leadership roles in the tech industry. THINK-HER-HACK 3.0 was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on participants and further solidifying its reputation as a premier women-focused hackathon in Kerala.

Faculty members Leema Mathew, Arathi Chandran, and Chintu P Chacko, along with 26 students, attended the Future Summit 2025 at Jain University on January 31, 2025. The summit featured expert talks, panel discussions, and exhibitions on emerging technologies, AI, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. A key highlight was the Roboverse Exhibition, showcasing cutting-edge robotics innovations and real-world applications. Attendees explored industry trends, engaged with experts, and gained insights into future technological advancements.
Hands-On Web Scraping Workshop Empowers Participants
On December 28, 2024, an online hands-on workshop on web scraping using Selenium and Python was conducted via Google Meet.
Led by Alwin Sajan, Research Lead at Core.ai, the session covered web scraping fundamentals, ethical considerations, and practical data extraction techniques. Participants engaged in real-world examples and an interactive Q&A session, gaining essential skills to automate data collection for future projects in data analysis and machine learning.
Essentials Workshop Enlightens Participants
On December 27, 2024, CodeCatalyst, in collaboration with CSAT, hosted an engaging online workshop, “AI Essentials: You Need to Know,” via Google Meet.
Led by Deva Nanda Nair, Tech Lead at CodeCatalyst, the session introduced advanced AI tools such as Perplexity AI, Claude AI, Habitica, and iAsk AI. Participants explored their unique features, real-world applications, and productivity-enhancing capabilities. Practical demonstrations empowered attendees to effectively utilize AI for streamlining everyday tasks.
Project UNO 1: Mastering Git and GitHub Competition
CSAT, in association with the Core.ai Club of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, organized Project UNO 1: Mastering Git and GitHub. The event began on November 20, 2024, with a session by Festin Biju, Co-lead at Core.ai, attended by 23 participants. The training covered Git essentials, repository management, and collaborative workflows. Ten teams competed, showcasing advanced Git skills. The competition concluded on December 25, 2024, with Team FEIN (Eldhose Saju, Irene Issan, FidhaanAsmeer) crowned winners.
Industrial Visit to ICFOSS, Thiruvananthapuram
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, organized an industrial visit to the International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS) on November 30, 2024. A total of 23 members, including faculty and lab staff, participated in the visit to explore ICFOSS’s technological advancements and research initiatives.
ICFOSS, a government nodal agency established in 2009, promotes Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and collaborates with academia, industry, and global communities. The visit featured presentations on Open IoT, language processing, assistive technology, and open drone projects. Demonstrations included applications in LoRaWAN, weather stations, 3D printing, and Braille learning technologies.
The Swatantra Incubator, which supports startups in IT, IoT, and FOSS technologies, was also highlighted. The visit concluded with a Q&A session, a vote of thanks, and a group photo, providing participants with valuable insights into the role of FOSS in technology and entrepreneurship.

Held on 2nd-3rd November as part of a statewide event across 30+ venues, this overnight program brought together 2500+ students working on 500+ projects. The event featured engaging ice-breaking sessions, dynamic brainstorming, and collaborative efforts to transform quirky ideas into fun projects. Exclusive to the TinkerHub community, it fostered creativity, innovation, teamwork, and excitement, celebrating out-of-the-box thinking and leaving participants inspired by the ingenuity on display. Participants competed for a grand prize worth ₹75,000, with 20+ students set to win monthly scholarships totalling up to ₹3 lakh.
Useless Projects: Launchpad to Uselessness
On October 30, 2024, from 7 to 8 PM, the engaging event “Useless Projects: Launchpad to Uselessness” took place, featuring Rohith Ramdas (S7 CSE) as the speaker.Participants delved into the playful and imaginative side of web development, discovering how to transform quirky ideas into “useless” yet highly engaging projects. Rohith shared valuable insights that inspired attendees to embrace creativity, think innovatively, and view web development through a fun and unconventional lens.The session encouraged participants to step outside traditional boundaries, fostering innovation while celebrating the joy of building for the sake of creativity.
Launch of Core.ai: Pioneering AI Innovation
On October 30, 2024, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering proudly launched Core.ai, a student-driven initiative dedicated to shaping the next generation of AI pioneers and driving innovation within Kerala’s AI ecosystem.

The inauguration of activities of CSI Student Branch and CSAT – Computer Science and Engineering Association of Toc H for the academic year 2024-’25 was held on 30th October 2024 by Mr. Vishnu Narayanan B , Head – Talent Development, TCS – Kerala Region. Spark Venture – Ignite Innovation Challenge – Award Presentation Ceremony
The Award Presentation Ceremony of the SparkVenture – Ignite Innovation Challenge, a premier student project funding initiative by Toc H Institute of Science and Technology in collaboration with Freston Analytics Private Limited and ProSEED, was held on 9th August 2024 at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, Arakkunnam. This highly anticipated event marked the successful conclusion of a thrilling six-month contest cycle, during which talented students from engineering colleges across Kerala presented their innovative project and startup ideas. After rigorous rounds of evaluations, the most promising proposals were awarded grants to help turn their ideas into reality. The top honors went to Mangalam College of Engineering, Kottayam, for their project “AR Learning Aid for Dyslexic Users,” which secured the first place with a grant of ₹1 lakh. The second place and ₹75,000 were awarded to Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, Kochi, for their “First Aid Pro” project, while the third place and ₹50,000 went to Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam, for “AirSecureX: An AirDraw Authentication.” The event was a true celebration of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, with all participants demonstrating exceptional technical prowess and a remarkable ability to transform ideas into impactful solutions.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, Arakkunnam, Kochi, proudly hosted the AICTE VAANI Sponsored Workshop on Smart Manufacturing and IoT from July 10-12, 2024. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. M V Judy, Professor at CUSAT, who delivered an insightful session on “Demystifying the Convergence of IoT and Industry 4.0.”
The workshop emphasized the transformative role of IoT in advancing Manufacturing and Industry 4.0. It showcased how IoT enables real-time data collection, enhances product quality, and fosters connectivity within smart factories. Participants explored predictive maintenance and the integration of IoT for proactive issue resolution. The event, conducted in Malayalam, catered to academicians, researchers, and professionals, offering a robust foundation for enhancing IoT education.

Exploring Sustainable Energy: Toc H CSE Students Visit Pallivasal Hydroelectric Project
On March 27, 2024, Toc H CSE Semester 4 B batch, comprising 50 students, embarked on an educational trip to the Pallivasal Hydroelectric Project. Accompanied by faculty members Mr. Sharath P Raju and Adv. Renuka M R, the group explored Kerala’s first hydroelectric project situated near Munnar town.
Owned by the Kerala State Electricity Board, Pallivasal harnesses the Mudirapuzha river’s power through 2 reservoirs, 2 dams, and a power house. Divided into groups, students received guided tours from officials, gaining insights into turbine operations and the plant’s mechanisms, including a visit to both old and new control stations.
This immersive experience deepened students understanding of sustainable energy practices, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, and fostering appreciation for environmentally friendly power generation methods
Toc H CSE Semester 2 Students Visit TinkerSpace for Hands-On Tech Experience
Toc H CSE Semester 2 Batch A & B students (2023-’27 batch) had an enlightening visit to TinkerSpace on March 22 and 23, 2024. Accompanied by faculty members Ms. Cinu Skaria, Ms. Sreeja S, Ms. Philo Sumi, and Ms. Sonu Kuriakose, the students explored a hub of innovation.
TinkerSpace, a project by TinkerHub Foundation, fosters a vibrant tech community focused on innovation, collaboration, and social impact. Offering workshops, hackathons, and meetups, TinkerSpace provides access to cutting-edge technology for all skill levels. Toc H proudly participates as an active cell of the TinkerHub community.

The event, tailored to B.Tech (Circuit Branches – 2nd and 3rd yr), M.Tech, MCA, integrated MCA, and M.Sc. (Computer/Electronics) students across districts like Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, and Idukki, was a beacon of innovation and knowledge sharing.

14th International Conference on Bio-Inspired Computing and ICT: A Global Confluence of Innovation
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, Kochi, successfully hosted the 14th International Conference on ‘Innovations in Bio-Inspired Computing and Applications’ & 13th World Congress on ‘Information and Communication Technologies’ from December 14-15, 2023.
Dr. Milan Tuba, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Project at Singidunum University, Serbia, inaugurated the conference, emphasizing the significance of Bio-Inspired Computing. Held in collaboration with esteemed partners such as Machine Intelligence Research Labs (USA), Bennet University (Noida), and the Computer Society of India, the conference attracted global experts.
The event, part of the International Joint Conferences 2023 with sessions worldwide, provided a platform for academics and industry professionals to exchange ideas on the latest ICT advancements. Featuring a plenary session by Prof. Milan Tuba on “Application of Bio-inspired Optimization Algorithms to Problems in Artificial Intelligence” and hybrid-mode technical paper presentations, the conference marked a significant stride in advancing research and collaboration in the dynamic field of Bio-Inspired Computing.

TinkerHub TocH Kochi ignited inspiration at the ‘WOMEN TECHspire’ event on Oct 4, 2023, at Tagore Hall. Industrial Visit to Cognizant
Toc H Placement Cell and the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC), in collaboration with the Computer Science department, organized a highly beneficial industrial visit to Cognizant, Kochi on May 2, 2023. B.Tech CSE S6 students, accompanied by Asst. Prof. Nimina George and Asst. Prof. Sherine Sebastine, had the privilege of participating in this visit. The experience proved to be invaluable as it allowed the students to enhance their practical knowledge through interactive sessions and provided them with a firsthand understanding of the industry. Through engaging with professionals and observing the real-world IT industry in action, our students gained insights into real-time IT working methods and employment practices.
