CAPSTONE 2025: Sparking Curiosity in Young Minds

Students from Toc H Public School, Vyttila were among the enthusiastic visitors to CAPSTONE 2025, held on March 28, 2025, at CV Raman Hall and S8 CSE, Einstein Block, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology. Their visit offered a unique opportunity to explore a wide array of innovative projects developed by final-year and pre-final year CSE students.

From AI-powered applications to cutting-edge software solutions, the exhibition showcased the students’ technical expertise and creativity in solving real-world problems. The school students engaged actively with the exhibits, gaining insights into engineering innovation and sparking interest in future tech careers.

Organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in collaboration with IEEE CS S8 Toc H and IIC Toc H, CAPSTONE 2025 was a dynamic blend of learning, inspiration, and innovation—highlighting the institute’s commitment to nurturing future engineers and inspiring the next generation.

Empowering Women Through Education: Dr. Sreela Sreedhar Inaugurates Women’s Day Celebrations

Dr. Sreela Sreedhar, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, inaugurated the programs organized by Government Polytechnic College, Purapuzha as part of the World Women’s Day celebrations held on March 7, 2025. She was accompanied by Ms. Remya Tomy, Lab Instructor from the Department of CSE. Their participation added significance to the event, which aimed to celebrate and empower women through a series of inspiring activities and discussions.

Innovators Day Out at Toc H

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology successfully organized The Innovators Day Out on February 25, 2025, offering an immersive tech experience for bright students from Toc H Public School, Vyttila.

The event featured hands-on activities with cutting-edge technologies, interactive sessions on emerging engineering trends, and a guided campus tour showcasing state-of-the-art facilities. Students actively engaged in the sessions, gaining valuable insights into the real-world applications of engineering and science.

The experience aimed to ignite curiosity and passion for technology, while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Grama Vidyajyothi Award Distribution and Outreach Session

On July 7, 2024, Dr. Sreela Sreedhar, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, attended the Grama Vidyajyothi Award Distribution at RPS Hall, Kakkoor. Organized in association with the Public Library, Kakkoor, the event featured an outreach session where Dr. Sreela Sreedhar delivered an insightful talk on ‘Changing Perspectives of Advanced Education’.

The session aimed to inform and inspire school students about the evolving landscape of higher education, emphasizing the need to adapt to new learning paradigms and emerging technologies in today’s dynamic world.

Dr. Sreela Sreedhar, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at TIST, delivered an enlightening awareness talk on the topic ‘Open Internet and Uses’ during the ‘Prabahathabheri’ program on All India Radio, Thiruvananthapuram. The talk aimed to educate listenersabout the importance of an open internet and its diverse applications. Dr. Sreela Sreedhar provided valuable insights into the benefits and potential of an open internet, shedding light on how it promotes innovation, knowledge sharing, and global connectivity. AwarenessSession–‘ValueEducation’

Dr. Sreela Sreedhar, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at TIST, conducted an awareness session on ‘Value Education for parents and grandparents of Kuttykalari preschool. The session aimed to emphasize the importance of instilling core values in children at an early age. Dr. Sreedhar provided insights into various aspects of value education and shared practical tips for integrating values into daily interactions with children. The session served as a valuable platform for parents and grandparents to enhance their understanding and contribute positively to their children’s upbringing.

CELEBRATINGTINKERINGINSCHOOLS

Toc H, Department of CSE took part in the Mega Tinkering Activity organized by Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, across the ATL Schools in India to celebrate Childrens’ Day. TIST IIC representatives from the Dept. of CSE, Mr.Abin Oommen Philip (Asst. Professor (CSE), Mr. Sajith P J (Asst. Professor (CSE), IIC Ambassador), Roshan Mathews and Abhinav P Sathyan (Student representatives, CSE Final Yr.) provided mentoring support to Atal Tinkering Lab at Sree Saraswathy Vidya Mandir School, Karikode and Toc H Public School, Vyttila.

The students were given necessary technical guidance to build an innovation project as a part of the largest ever global tinkering events done collectively in asingleday, that paved the way for acceleration of the tinkering movement in India.
