Association & Activities
ACTIVITIES UNDER BLITZ

The EEE association BLITZ had its inception in the year 2005. The department association activities enable the students to develop their organizational capabilities and teamwork apart from the various technical talks and workshops. The students are actively involved in all the various areas, starting from designing the brochure, organizing the competitions to planning the valedictory function.

The IEEE PES Student Branch of Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST) in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, organized two exciting events — a Quiz Competition and a Poster Making Competition — that brought out the creativity and intellect of the participants.

The Quiz Competition, held at the Electrical Workshop, Einstein Block, tested participants’ knowledge and quick thinking through a series of engaging and challenging questions. Students showcased excellent teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the event.

Simultaneously, the Poster Making Competition on the theme “Sustainable Energy for a Brighter Future” encouraged participants to express their ideas on promoting green energy and sustainability through art and innovation.

The prizes were distributed during the Blitz Association program.

The events were filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and competitive spirit, making them a grand success under the banner of IEEE PES SB Toc H.

2025 – 26

  1. She Builds Mobility – Aptiv Plant Visit

A total of 10 students from TIST participated in the She Builds Mobility program held at Aptiv, Cochin conducted on 10th December 2025. The team comprised 4 students from Electrical & Computer Engineering (EL) and 6 students from Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EE). Ms Sreekala V, Assistant professor and Ms Anjumol C S, Associate Professor of EL Department accompanied them.

The program provided valuable exposure through a plant visit, automotive industry technology updates, and interactive sessions with industry experts, offering insights into cutting-edge innovations in the automotive connector sector.

  1. Online Faculty Session on MATLAB

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, TIST, in association with MathWorks and CoreEL Technologies, successfully organized an online faculty session titled “Empowering Innovation with MATLAB: Campus Wide License & Tools for Faculties” on 12th December 2025 via Microsoft Teams.

The session was handled by Mr. Dhanoop Dhanpal, Application Engineer, CoreEL Technologies Pvt. Ltd., who provided valuable insights into MATLAB campus-wide licensing, advanced tools, and their applications in teaching, research, and innovation. The session was informative and helped faculty members explore effective ways to integrate MATLAB into academics and research activities.

  1. Participation in Inter-College Quiz Competition on Energy Conservation

    Students of our  EEE/ELE participated in an Inter-College Quiz Competition on the topic “Energy Conservation for Sustainability”. The event was organized by Institution of Engineers India (IEI), Ernakulam Local Centre, at Aban Hall, IEI Bhavan, Kochi.The programme was conducted  on 13 December 2025 as part of the National Energy Conservation Day celebrations.

    A total of six students participated in the competition, organized into three teams with two members each, representing S4, S6 EE, and S6 EL.

    The quiz competition aimed to enhance students’ awareness and understanding of energy conservation practices and sustainable energy usage. The event encouraged active participation, critical thinking, and knowledge sharing among engineering students from various colleges.

4 Energy Conservation Day – Awareness Session and Lab Activity

 In connection with Energy Conservation Day, the Energy Club of the EEE/ELE Departments, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), TIST Arakkunnam, organized an Energy Conservation Awareness Session on 13 December 2025 for 2nd year EEE students.

The awareness session was handled by Ms. Mangala Devi, K.T., Head of the Department, EE/EL who delivered an insightful talk on the importance of energy conservation, efficient energy utilization, and sustainable practices. The session helped create awareness among students about the need for responsible energy consumption in both domestic and industrial applications.

As part of the programme, an Energy Conservation Awareness Lab Session was conducted on 15 December 2025 at the E³ Lab. During the lab session, students performed power and energy measurements of different lighting schemes and carried out a comparative analysis to understand energy efficiency and consumption patterns. The hands-on activity enhanced students’ practical understanding of energy-efficient lighting systems and reinforced the concepts discussed during the awareness session.

  1. Christmas Celebration at TIST

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) and Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ELE) jointly celebrated Christmas on 19 December 2025 at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology. The celebration witnessed the enthusiastic participation of faculty members from both departments.

The event was marked by a warm and joyful atmosphere, with staff members exchanging gifts as a gesture of goodwill and togetherness. A cake-cutting ceremony added to the festive spirit, fostering unity and camaraderie among the faculty. The celebration reflected the spirit of harmony and strengthened interdepartmental bonding.

6. Debate on Environmental Responsibility in Pollution Control

 The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ELE) jointly organized a debate titled “Is Pollution Control a Shared Responsibility or Primarily a Government Duty?” on 31st December 2025 (Wednesday) at EL020 (S4 Classroom).

The event was conducted for students of S6 ELE & EEE and S4 ELE & EEE, with Asst. Prof. Lakshmi S. Dutt (ELE) and Asst. Prof. Aeliswa Raju (ELE) serving as mentors for the session. The debate provided a platform for students to express diverse viewpoints and engage in constructive discussions on environmental pollution and its control.

The activity significantly enhanced students’ understanding of environmental pollution issues and various control mechanisms. It highlighted the importance of government policies, legislation, and enforcement while also emphasizing that effective pollution control requires collective effort from society at large. The discussion brought attention to the crucial role of engineers in adopting sustainable and eco-friendly technologies.

The debate concluded with a consensus that pollution control is a shared responsibility, wherein the government functions as a regulator and facilitator, and society—including engineers—acts as an active contributor. Overall, the event fostered environmental awareness, ethical responsibility, critical thinking, and teamwork among the participating students.

Library Orientation Programme for First-Year EEE Students

A Library Orientation Program was conducted for the first-year B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)  students at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST) on 28th October 2025.

The session was led by Mr. Sreekumar N, the Librarian, who provided an overview of the library’s resources, facilities, and digital services. The orientation aimed to familiarize students with the effective use of library resources, research databases, and reference materials to support their academic learning and project work.

The session helped students understand the importance of cultivating good reading and research habits and encouraged them to make the most of the library’s extensive academic resources.

Training session on IEEE e-resources

An offline training session on IEEE e-resources was organized for B.Tech S7 Electrical and Computer Engineering (ELE) students at the Sarabhai Digital Library on 10th October 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The session was led by Mr. Nandalal T. S., Senior Training Manager (South India), EBSCO Information Services, New Delhi.

The session focused on the effective use of IEEE journals, conference proceedings, and digital resources available through the TIST Library. Participants were introduced to methods for mobile and remote access, and guided on how to efficiently access e-books, research papers, and project reports to support their academic and research activities.

A quiz competition based on IEEE and EBSCO resources was conducted at the end of the session, and prizes for the first, second, and third place winners were distributed by Mr. Sreekumar N., Librarian, TIST.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Sreekumar N. The training proved to be highly informative and engaging, offering valuable insights into maximizing the use of IEEE and EBSCO digital platforms for research and learning. All participants received event participation certificates from EBSCO-IEEE, which can be downloaded from their registered email IDs.

Hands-On Learning: Electrical Workshop Introduces IT Students to L&T Switchgear

As part of the Electrical workshop, the students of s1 IT were given an orientation on L&T switchgear, where they learned about the different types of electrical protection devices, their functions, and industrial applications. The session helped the students gain valuable insights into safety measures, circuit control mechanisms, and the importance of reliable switchgear in electrical systems.

The interactive workshop not only enhanced the students’ technical knowledge but also sparked interest in the fundamentals of electrical engineering concepts relevant to their field. It served as a great initiative to encourage interdisciplinary learning and hands-on exposure among the first-year students of the IT department.

Inauguration of BLITZ Activities 2025–26

The Departments of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Toc H Institute of Science and Technology inaugurated departmental association BLITZ for the academic year 2025–26 on 17th October 2025 at Tagore Hall.

The event began with an invited talk by Mr. Deepak G. Pillai, Principal Consultant, Infosys, Trivandrum, who shared valuable insights on emerging industry trends and skill development for engineering graduates.

The formal function commenced at noon with a welcome address by Asst. Prof. Anju Mathew, followed by the presidential address by Mr. Kurian Thomas, Manager, Toc H Public School Society. Ms. Mangaladevi K. T., HoD (EEE), presented a report on BLITZ activities for 2024–25, highlighting the department’s achievements and initiatives.

The inauguration and inaugural address were delivered by Mr. Deepak G. Pillai, who emphasized the importance of innovation, teamwork, and adaptability in the rapidly evolving technological landscape. The function also featured a prize distribution ceremony recognizing outstanding student performances.

Felicitation speeches were delivered by Mr. Madhu Cherian, Secretary, Toc H Public School Society, and Prof. (Dr.) Preethi Thekkath, Principal, TIST. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a successful beginning to a new year of BLITZ activities aimed at fostering technical excellence and collaboration among students.

Industrial Visit to Kerala Paper Products Limited (KPPL)

An industrial visit to Kerala Paper Products Limited (KPPL), Velloor was organized for the B.Tech S7 Electrical and Electronics Engineering  students on 18th October 2025. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial processes and firsthand insights into the application of electrical engineering concepts in a large-scale manufacturing environment.

The visit was accompanied by Ms. Mangaladevi K. T., Assistant Professor and Head of the Department (EEE), and Ms. Sreekala V. M., Assistant Professor, who facilitated the interactions and coordinated the learning activities

Association & Activities 2024-25

Industrial Visit – S5 EEE

The S5 Electrical and Electronics Engineering students of TOCH Institute of Science and Technology undertook an industrial visit from 10th to 14th September. The itinerary included stops at Murudeshwar, Dandeli, and Goa, with the academic highlight being the visit to CSIR–National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa.
At NIO, students were exposed to advanced marine research and instrumentation, gaining insights into real-world applications of electronics, instrumentation, and sustainable resource management. The visit offered a blend of academic learning and cultural exploration, making it both educational and memorable.

3-Day Internship at IPCS Global

Nineteen students from S7 EEE successfully completed a 3-day internship at IPCS Global.
The program offered hands-on training in industrial automation tools including PLC, SCADA, and Drives, giving students practical exposure to real-world applications.

This experience not only strengthened their technical knowledge in Electrical and Electronics Engineering but also enhanced their problem-solving skills and industry readiness.

First year induction program Day 2

Day 2 of the First-Year Induction Program began with an insightful session by Ms. Sreekala, Asst. Prof., ELE, on “Introduction to Electrical Engineering.” The session provided students with a foundational understanding of the field, igniting curiosity and interest as they step into their academic journey.

The day further featured “Alumni Insights – Echoes of Experience”, where proud alumni returned to connect with the new batch. Mr. Venkatesh A., Principal Consultant at Mercedes Benz Research and Development, and Mr. Joshua, EV Engineer at L&T, shared their college experiences and inspired students with practical guidance on choosing a career path, setting goals, and staying motivated to achieve them

The day also featured a thought-provoking session on “Universal Human Values – Building Character, Building Futures, Foundations for Life” by Asst. Prof. Mangala Devi, HOD, ELE/EEE, highlighting the role of ethics and values in shaping life and career.

Finally, the day concluded with literary activities on socially relevant themes such as social media addiction and drug abuse, encouraging students to express their views and reflect on issues that impact today’s youth.

First year induction program Day 1

Day 1 of the First-Year Induction Program began on a graceful note with a prayer, followed by an inspiring address from Asst. Prof. Mangala Devi,Head of the Department EEE & ELE, to the EEE and ELE students—ushering in blessings and new beginnings

As part of the induction program, Dr. Reena Madhu,Associate Professor,Department of Applied Psychology conducted an interactive session titled ‘Speak to Shine’, focusing on the Proficiency Module in English to help students enhance their communication skills.

To guide students in shaping their future, Mr. Varghese Scaria, Placement and Training Officer, conducted a session on “Path to Placement: From Campus to Corporate”, offering valuable insights into career readiness and professional growth

Adding to the day’s learning, Ms. Sreekala, Asst. Prof., ELE, delivered a talk on “Job Opportunities and Higher Studies Pathways”, providing students with valuable awareness about their future prospects.

The day concluded with “Illuminating Ideas – Bright Minds, Bright Lights”, a hands-on LED manufacturing workshop conducted by the Rural Science and Technology Centre, Thuruthikkara, sparking innovation and creativity among students.

  1. Faculty Visit to APTIV CONNECTION SYSTEMS

As part of an industrial exposure initiative, faculty members from the EEE Department visited APTIV CONNECTION SYSTEMS INDIA Pvt. Ltd., Arakunnam. The visit provided insights into advancements in vehicle electrification, smart mobility, and software-defined architectures. Interactions with industry professionals helped bridge the gap between academia and industry, enhancing the relevance of classroom teaching with real-world applications.

  1. Beyond the Syllabus: Real-Time HT Substation Maintenance

As part of the department’s experiential learning initiatives, students participated in real-time HT substation maintenance activities on the college campus on 8th July 2025. The session was led by Mr.Ansar Jamal, Assistant Professor and Maintenance Head, TIST. This hands-on experience offered valuable insights into high-tension electrical systems, reinforcing theoretical knowledge through direct exposure to practical engineering applications.

  1. Industrial Visit to Sengulam Hydroelectric Power Station

An industrial visit was organized for S3 EEE students to the Sengulam Hydroelectric Power Station, Vellathooval, on 2nd August 2025. The visit was aimed at providing students with practical exposure to the generation and distribution aspects of hydroelectric power. The students were accompanied by Mr.Ansar Jamal and Ms.Aeliswa, Assistant Professors from the ELE Department. The session helped bridge theoretical knowledge with real-time applications in the power sector.Such visits play a crucial role in enhancing the learning experience by enabling students to witness engineering systems in operation.

PROJECT EXPO – 2025

The Departments of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Electrical & Computer engineering at Toc H Institute of Science and Technology successfully organized Project Expo 2025 on March 28, 2025, at the Einstein Block. The expo highlighted an impressive array of student projects spanning cutting-edge domains such as  Internet of Things (IoT)Image Processing, and automation. The event welcomed enthusiastic participation from school students of Toc H Public School, Vytilla and and Fathima Central School, Piravom   who actively explored the various exhibits. 

VISIT TO EDAMALAYAR  POWER STATION

On 18th March 2025, S8 Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) students visited the KSEB Edamalayar Power Station as part of their academic curriculum. The visit provided an in-depth understanding of hydroelectric power generation, including turbine operations, power transmission, and grid integration. Engineers at the facility explained the working of the dam, water flow control, and the role of Edamalayar in Kerala’s power supply. This helped students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, enhancing their understanding of renewable energy and power system management.

VISIT TO NATIONAL POWER TRAINING INSTITUTE

On 5th March  2025, S8 EEE students visited National Power Training Institute, Alappuzha. This institute imparts training relating to Operation & Maintenance of the electric power plants/systems in the field of Thermal, Hydro, T&D, Renewable Energy and Latest trends in Power Sector including Smart Grid to working professionals of various power utilities/ organizations. The students were introduced to the SCADA and SMART GRID Simulator, RES emulator etc. 

VIDHYUTH’ 2025

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering successfully conducted the Department Tech Fest, VIDHYUTH 2025, organized by the BLITZ Association, on 1st March, 2025. Exploring boundless creativity, students shone in diverse technical and non-technical activities, attracting participants from inter-departments and TIST. Different events such as Best Engineer, Treasure Hunt etc were conducted as  part of Tech Fest.

FIVE DAY  SOLAR INTERNSHIP TRAINING AT URJAMITHRA

7 students of S8 EEE attended 5 day training at Urjamithra, Kalamaserry.Students have gained hands-on experience in the installation and maintenance of solar panels. Also learned how to assess the efficiency of solar energy systems using various performance metrics and diagnostic tools. Students involved in assisting the technical team in the installation of solar panels at residential and commercial sites. Conducted field surveys to evaluate the suitability of locations for solar panel installation, considering factors like sunlight exposure and shading. Participated in the testing and calibration of solar power systems and helped troubleshoot minor issues. This internship has equipped them with essential skills and insights that will significantly benefit academic and professional pursuits in the renewable energy domain.

THREE DAY INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAM IN ASSOCIATION WITH L&T SWITCHGEAR TRAINING CENTRE, COONOOR

The Department of Electrical and Electronics , in collaboration with L&T Switchgear Training Centre, Coonoor, organized a 3-day industrial training program for S8 EEE studentson the Course LT14 – Introduction to Industrial Electrical Systemas part of the MoUsigned. Students attended the program as Online Sessions on 23rd& 24th January 2025 (Venue: Toc H Institute of Science & Technology Campus) and as Offline Hands-on Training on 29th January 2025 (Venue: L&T Switchgear Training Centre, Coonoor, Ooty). This initiative aims to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, offering students valuable practical exposure and knowledge enhancement. Partnering with L&T, this program reinforces our commitment to excellence in engineering education.

ENERGY QUIZ COMPETITION

The Energy Club of Toc H Institute of Science & Technology (TIST) in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineeringorganized an Energy Quiz Competition at Tagore Hall on  22ndJanuary 2025. This initiative encouraged students to test their knowledge on energy-related topics. A total of 27 students participated in the event and the winner, Paulson C, student of S4 ELE was awarded with a cash prize.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO CSIR-NIO GOA

On 4th October 2024, an industrial visit to the CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) in Goa was organized to provide students with insights into marine science research and the applications of oceanographic studies in solving real-world environmental and industrial challenges. 21 students from S6 EEE ( 2022 Adm.) and 20 students from S6 ELE along with 2 faculties attended the institute. made an industrial visit. The visit was a valuable opportunity to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical exposure.

INTERNSHIP AT KSEB

In the month of July 2024 13 students of S5 EEE completed a 5 – day internship at various KSEB Substations. The site was selected as per the ease and convenience of travelling. This internship program provided an exposure to the transmission sector of Kerala State Electricity Board and the methodologies used to supply quality electricity to all the consumers adequately and safely at affordable cost. It enriched the knowledge regarding the transmission sector which is the backbone of power system.

INTERNSHIP TRAINING AT KEL MAMALA

Vishnu V P, Kalidasan J, Arjun C S, Abhishek K S, Muhammed Sahad, Manikandan M Mand Muhammed Farhan of S5 EEE attended a one week internship at KEL Mamala, during 4th July 2024 to 11th July 2024.

INTERNSHIP TRAINING AT COCHIN PORT AUTHORITY

During 25th July 2024 – 29th July 2024 , 7 students from S5 EEE, Nandana Radhakrishnan, Adarsh Ramesan, Thejasree Sreejith, Sara Aji, Keerthy C S, Anirudh T Sanal and Arjun Biju attended a 5 day Internship training at Cochin Port Authority. Internship gave students an insight to functioning and design of 110KV substation, Mobile Harbour Crane as well as different hardware, mechanization framework and security safety measures introduced at the port

Association & Activities 2023-24

ANNUAL BLITZ DAY 2024

The EEE and ELE departments of TIST celebrated Annual Blitz Day 2024 on April 18 at Ramanujan Hall. The event featured Chief Guest Mr. Nair Nandkumar, Senior Associate Vice President at Carborundum Universal Ltd. The program began with a welcome speech by Asst. Prof. Jisha Joseph, Blitz Coordinator of EEE, followed by a presidential address by Er. C.S. Varghese, President of Toc H Public School Society.

HOD(I/C) Asst. Prof. Mangala Devi K.T. presented a report on the department’s activities, after which Mr. N.J. Johnson, Treasurer of Toc H Public School Society, and Dr. Deepa Elizabeth George, Vice Principal of TIST, addressed the gathering. The event also included the honoring of academic toppers, with student Mary Agna being honored as the best student of 2018-2023. In her absence, Mary Agna’s parents received the prize. Additionally, the department magazine “NetSpark” was released, and there were felicitations by members of the management. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the student coordinator and a talk on Energy Management and Conservation by the chief guest.

PROJECT EXHIBITION
The live demonstrations of innovative projects by the students of the EEE and ELE departments were showcased during the project exhibition on May 10, 2024, in the seminar hall.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT KREEPA

On 09-12-2023, 35 students from S1 EEE and ELE visited the KREEPA GREEN POWER EXPO, held at Adlux International Convention Centre, Angamaly, from 11 am to 2 pm. The students had the opportunity to learn about the efficiency and scalability of these renewable energy sources through interactive displays and demonstrations.

On November 7th, 2023, in association with IEDC and IIC, 43 students of S4 EE & EL had a remarkable visit to Maker village, the electronic incubator in Kerala, led by Assistant Professors Deepa P L and Kripa Radhakrishnan.

The students of S8 EEE and S8 EL in association with IEDC, TIST, had visited Malabar Extrusion Pvt ltd., on 25th March 2024, which is a fully integrated aluminum extrusion manufacturer based in Cochin, Kerala. The company has an in-house Die and tooling development, casting, extrusion and metal finishing and the various equipments include advanced CNC machines, vacuum heat treatment and PLC systems.

On February 27th, 2024, as a component of VIDHYUTH ’24, an exhibition highlighting Energy Efficiency was held, featuring demonstrations showcasing the power consumption of selected household appliances.

On February 17, 2023, 42 students of S4 EE & EL embarked on an enlightening trip to the KSEB Pallivasal Power Station in Kerala, led by Assistant Professors Kripa Radhakrishnan and Ansar Jamal . The objective of the visit to the Pallivasal Power Station was to gather information on various aspects such as operational efficiency, maintenance protocols, environmental impact, technological advancements, energy production capacity, and any potential challenges or improvements needed in the field of electricity production. During the trip, students gained insights into the process of electricity generation, including the technologies used, such as hydroelectric turbines, and how they convert water flow into electrical energy.

VIDHYUTH’ 2024

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering successfully conducted the Department Tech Fest, VIDHYUTH 2024, organized by the BLITZ Association, on February 27th, 2024. Exploring boundless creativity, students shone in diverse technical and non-technical activities, attracting participants from inter-departments and TIST.

Sixth semester students of EEE and ELE along with a few S2 students had visited the Safety and Fire Exhibition conducted by Dept. of SFE, TIST on 14th March,  for learning and exploring the latest fire safety advancements.

Students of Second Semester Electrical and Electronics and Electrical and Computer Engineering of Toc H Institute of Science and Technology had attended the Electrical Engineering EXPO electric world-2024 by KELCON on 02.03.2024.

HoD(I/c) Dept. of EEE and EL  Mangala Devi K T and Asst. Professor Mini K R had attended the International Energy Festival of Kerala (IEFK-2024) organized by the Energy Management Centre – Kerala, Department of Power and Government of Kerala on 9th Feb, 2024.

AWARENESS SESSION ON ENERGY CONSERVATION

Awareness Talk on ‘Energy Conservation’ by Mangala Devi K T, HOD (I/C) – EEE, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology in association with NSS, Energy Club EEE Dept & IIC, on I5th December 2023. The session aimed to explain the students the importance of Energy Management, simple methods of reducing their energy bill, importance of STAR rated appliances etc. The session helps the students to understand the importance of energy managementand the various methods of energy conservation in their homes.

Students of the department of EEE and EL attended 3 days(3/11/23,7/11/23 and 9/11/23) industrial training on “Introduction to industrial electrical system ” at L&T switchgear training center, Coonoor,Ooty, Nilgiris .The course  provides  an  industrial exposure   to students and faculty of our institute. 

OFFLINE HACKATHON

IEEE SB Toc H in association with IEEE SPS SB Toc H and in collaboration with 𝙌𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙨 conducted an offline Hackathon on 7 th October 2023. It was based on three different themes

  1. Home Automation
  2. Car accident reduction system
  3. Agricultural tech.

Four students from S5 EL, Akshaya Mohan, Amina Neha M H, Anaksha Subash, Bhavya Babu were participated in the hackathon on the theme Agricultural techand was awarded withparticipation certificate.

INTERNSHIP

Seven students from S5 electrical (2021 admsn) completed the 4-days internship at KMRL, Kochi from September 12-16, 2023

INTERNSHIP AT TELK

A total of 6 S4 EEE student has attended one month internship at TELK, Angamaly during the period 8/5/2023 to 7/6/2023. This internship program provided exposure to power transformers, current transformers, voltage transformers, SF6 Circuit Breakers and reactors.  It enriched the knowledge regarding the range of power transformers manufactures from 20MVA to 315 MVA (3 phase) / 825 MVA (Single phase bank), current transformers up to 400 kV and potential transformers up to 245 kV. Winding, assembly of transformer core and various testing of transformers were also studied during the period.

INTERNSHIP AT KSEB

 In the month of May 12 students of S6 EEE completed a 5 – day internship at various KSEB Substations. The site was selected as to the ease and convenience of traveling. This internship program provided exposure to the transmission sector of the Kerala State Electricity Board and the methodologies used to supply quality electricity to all consumers adequately and safely at affordable costs. It enriched the knowledge regarding the transmission sector which is the backbone of the power system. It also included the yard visit which offered a deep insight into the operation of the entire substation.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION 2023

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, in collaboration with NSS & IIC TIST, distributed tree saplings to students and faculties on 5th June  2023 as part of World Environment Day celebrations. Around 80 students and faculty members from various departments participated in the event. Planting trees is an easy and effective way to combat climate change, improve air quality, and support biodiversity.  The event aimed at making students aware of the importance of planting trees and assisting them.
