This program makes use of laboratory facilities available in the EEE department (established in the year 2004) and the CSE department (established in the year 2002).
Electrical Workshop

Electrical Workshop is intended to impart skills to plan and carry out simple electrical wiring. It includes:

Set up for power measurement.

Set up for the study of power distribution arrangement
Electrical Machines Lab

Electrical Machines lab is equipped with both AC and DC machines which help in doing practical experiments with machines so as to solidify the theoretical knowledge of students. The list of Machines are :

DC Shunt, Series, and Compound Motor

DC Shunt and Compound Generator

The induction motor and Induction Generator
4
Synchronous Motor and Synchronous Generator.
Digital & Microprocessor Lab
Experiments on electronic circuits and digital circuits are done in this lab. Experiments done in this lab are:

Experiments using ICs 7483,7402,7400 etc

Programming using 8085, 8086 and 8051 trainer kit.

Interfacing experiments using ADC and stepper motor.
4
Interfacing using 8279 and 8255.
Circuits & Measurements Lab

This lab provides the platform for understanding practical implications of the fundamental laws of electric circuits, Calibration & testing of measuring instrument,s and accurate measurement of various electrical parameters of any circuit. It includes:

Single Phase and three-phase energy meter

Wheatstone’s Bridge and Kelvin’s Double Bridge

Power factor meter, Frequency meter, and TOD meter

Phase-shifting transformer

Single and three-phase inductive load    
Power System Lab

This lab provide facility to simulate various power system operations and testing procedures of various power system components. It includes:

Insulation Tester for HT and LT Cable.

Power Factor Improvement Trainer Kit

Earth Resistance Tester

Numerical over current relay tester.
Simulation Lab

This lab consists of 24 desktop systems.

Simulations using MATLAB, Mipower, and PSPICE software are carried out in this lab

Power Electronics Lab

This lab consists of 24 desktop systems.

Simulations using MATLAB, Mipower, and PSPICE software are carried out in this lab.

Programming Lab

Our computer labs are highly functional, with all the state-of-the-art features on the tap. It is well equipped with Core i5 Machines, installed with a variety of software catering to the needs of the students and covering the curriculum specified by the affiliated Kerala Technological University. A sufficient number of computers is available in the laboratories with 49 MBPS internet facility. Laboratories are kept open beyond office hours as per the need.

Simulation Lab

It’s a meetup space for IoT enthusiasts. The students meet up to discuss IoT-related topics, projects. The students have the provision of borrowing embedded kits for project purposes. The lab is equipped with :

5 Arduino kits
NODEMCU
6 Axis Gyro Module MPU 6050
  GPS NEO 7M Module   NODEMCU ESP8266 Wifi ESP-12E LUA CH340.

Energy Efficiency Evaluation Lab under the EEE department aims to determine the luminous efficiency and power quality issues of various types of light fitting. It includes:

L&T Switchgear Lab

An MOU with L&T is signed to establish collaboration between the Institute and Industry, with a view of providing a window to the world of the industry within the educational institution. L& T offers internship training to our students at their training Centre.  L& T lab set up by their experts at TIST is equipped with different types of LT & HT contactors & its testing units.

Machine Learning Lab

MODROB funded machine learning lab under CSE department is specially designed for research in machine learning encompassing unsupervised, supervised, and reinforcement learning. The objective of this laboratory is to identify the innovative research directions in artificial intelligence and machine learning and to understand the current industrial requirements in-terms of technical projects.
