NPTEL Silver certificates & Elite certificates
Asst.Prof. Arun Kumar, Asst.Prof.. Amala George, and Asst.Prof. Mima Manual from CSE department each earned Silver Certificates from NPTEL for their respective courses: Learning and Development in Organizations, Python for Data Science, and Introduction to Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT.
Asst. Prof. Anjaly Paul (Hardware Modeling Using Verilog), Asst. Prof. Anju Kuriakose (Theory of Computation), Asst. Prof. Arun Kumar (Data Science for Engineers), and Asst. Prof. Chithra C. Advancing Inclusion Program Scholars – GHCI 2025
Thanmaya S. CSE Students Secure Third Prize in Math Quiz Competition
Harshit Kumar Singh and Abel Kurian (2023 admission) secured the third prize in the Math Quiz Competition organized by the Department of Mathematics.
Excellence in AI: TIST Faculty Awarded NASSCOM Gold Certification
Dr. Sreela Sreedhar (HOD, CSE) and Ms. Anju Kuriakose (Assistant Professor, CSE) have been awarded the Gold Certificate in Generative AI Fluency by NASSCOM, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, for successfully clearing the national-level assessment aligned with industry competency standards.
NPTEL Online Certification
Ms. Amala George was awarded the Silver Certificate for successfully completing the NPTEL course “Python for Data Science.”
Ms. Adeena K. D., Ms. Anjaly Paul, Ms. Anju Kuriakose, Mr. Arun Kumar, Ms. Chintu P. Chacko, and Ms. Chithra C. Sekhar were awarded the NPTEL Elite Certificate in recognition of their outstanding performance and successful course completion.
Indian Patent Granted
An Indian patent has been granted to the CSE Department of TIST for the project titled “Automated Real-Time Traffic Surveillance System using Deep Learning, Blockchain, and Edge Computing.” The inventors are Dr. N. Vishwanath (Professor), Dr. Sreela Sreedhar (HOD, CSE), Dr. Sajith P J (Associate Professor), Ms. Elsaba Jacob (Associate Professor), and Ms. Divya K B (Assistant Professor).

CSE Excels in KTU April 2025 Results
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is delighted to share the outstanding results of the KTU B.Tech April 2025 examinations for the 2021–2025 batch, with an impressive overall pass percentage of 81.3%. Jerry Santhosh secured the top position with a CGPA of 9.78, followed by Rohit Ramdas (9.27) and Neha Anoob (8.87). Over 18 students secured CGPAs above 8.0, reflecting strong academic performance. This milestone underscores the dedication of students and faculty and the department’s commitment to excellence.

Tink Her Hack Impact Meet
Dr. Sreela Sreedhar (HOD, CSE) and Asst. Prof. Leema Mathew (TinkerHub Toc H) proudly represented Toc H Institute of Science and Technology at the Impact & Innovation Summit held on May 2, 2025, at TinkerSpace, Ernakulam. The event marked the conclusion of Tink Her Hack 3.0, Kerala’s largest women-centric hackathon spanning 63 campuses. Toc H was honoured for hosting this prestigious women-only hackathon twice, highlighting its commitment to empowering women in technology. The summit brought together changemakers, innovators, and visionaries to celebrate the initiative’s impact, with chief guests including Mr. Hibi Eden, MP; Mr. Anoop Ambika, CEO of KSUM; and Mr. Moosa Mehar, MP and Co-founder of TinkerHub Foundation.

Students from S2 CSE actively participated in The WOW Summit 2025, organized by Google Developer Groups (GDG) On Campus – Kerala, held at JAIN University on 27th May 2025. The event celebrated innovation, community, and empowerment in the tech landscape. Key sessions included “Inside I/O 2025”, showcasing the latest Google updates; “Getting Started with Agent Development Toolkit”, focusing on modern AI tools; “Cracking the Code of Great Products”, on building impactful tech products; and “Unmuted”, which encouraged confidence and personal growth in tech. The summit provided a dynamic platform for learning, collaboration, and inspiration among students and professionals.
Outstanding Performance in TCS CodeVita Season 12
Binoy C.E of 2021 admission secured a global rank of 8281 in TCS CodeVita Season 12, one of the world’s largest coding competitions, making the Computer Science Department proud with his remarkable coding skills, problem-solving abilities, and dedication to continuous learning.

Best Project Winners
Arjun A and Devananda Nair from S4 CSE A won the Best Project Award for their innovative NLP project by Core.ai, demonstrating advanced techniques and real-world applications. The project, conducted from 29th December to 2nd February, showcased their expertise in Natural Language Processing, setting a high standard for AI-driven solutions.
Hackathon Winners
Manu Madhu, Naveen Ravi, and Sirin Simon from S4 CSE (2023 admission) won 1st place in the 30-hour hackathon at Zynapse 2025, Bharata Mata College, securing a ₹20,000 cash prize. Competing as Team Innov8, they developed #GenEdu, a solution for sustainable, quality education that enhances learning by improving efficiency and organization.
Paid Internships
Nyasa Rajan (S8 B.Tech CSE, 2021-’25 batch) has secured a paid internship as a Graphic Designer at Neuflo, showcasing her talent and expertise in design.
Malavika Narayanan (S8 B.Tech CSE, 2021-’25 batch) has secured a paid internship as a Product Operations Intern at ClusterDev, highlighting her skills and expertise in the field.
IDEATHON THIRD PRIZE
The Techie Tribe team from the CSE Department secured third place in the IDEA Presentation Competition organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) at TIST on January 29, 2025. Their project, aligned with the theme “Reinnovating Existing Inventions,” demonstrated exceptional problem-solving and innovation.The team included Nandana R Nair, Uthara J, Navomi Jisha Sajie, and Nayanendhu Girish (S2 CSE).
D-Zone Handball Tournament Winners
Students from the Department of CSE were also a part of the TIST Handball Team, which achieved remarkable success at the APJ Abdul Kalam University D-Zone Handball Tournament held at KMEA College on February 1, 2025. The Men’s Team secured first place, while the Women’s Team finished as second runner-up. Representing CSE, Aishath Rehman, Dilsha P P, Nayanamol K J (S4), Nissia Samuel, Revathy Pradeep, Afeefa (S8), Harikrishnan S, Narayanan K, and Amal (S6) showcased outstanding teamwork and dedication.
tHINK cREATE eNGINEER program at IIT Madras
A team from TIST, comprising Sreekanth V P, Narayanan (S6 CSE), Kasyap, Nikku P Jose, Mohammed Ahal (S4 CSE), and faculty member Amal Das, participated in a three-day residential workshop at IIT Madras, organized by PALS from January 27-29, 2025. The event focused on enhancing creative thinking through expert sessions and hands-on activities.
The team attended technical sessions, explored student innovations at the Center for Innovation (CFI), and engaged in Happiness and Music Appreciation workshops. Their project on Kevlar and aerogel for weaponized drones secured first place, with Narayanan and Kasyap also winning in their respective domains. The workshop fostered innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving, providing valuable exposure to cutting-edge technology and creative ideation.
Tink – her- hack 3.0 Winners
The TINK-HER-HACK 3.0 women’s hackathon, organized by TinkerHub TOCH on January 24-25, 2025, saw outstanding performances from CSE teams, securing the top three positions.
- First Place: Team Techno Tribe developed “The Intimate Guide” (Members: Neethu Biju, Nandana K P, Sreelakshmi N).
- Second Place: Team Techninja developed “HerHaven” (Members: Thanmaya S Krishna, Surya Gopalakrishnan, Saranya Raju).
- Third Place: Team Techie Unniyarcha developed “FutureHer” (Members: Gayathri J S, Ganga Gireesh, Krishnapriya Rajeev).
The hackathon fostered innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving, empowering women in technology through creative solutions.
Student Achievements
- Aadhil Kassim P N and Aakash Rajeev (B.Tech S1 CSE, 2024-’28 batch) brought pride to the college by securing 3rd place in the prestigious State-level AI Quiz for Learners held at Kanakakunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram, on December 10, 2024. Competing with top district-level winners, they showcased exceptional skills through challenging written rounds, bounce-and-pounce sessions, and an electrifying buzzer round. They received ₹8,000, certificates, and the book AI For You. The event, part of ICGAIFE 2.0 by the Dept. of Higher Education, was hosted by quiz master Major Chandrakant Nair and attended by eminent dignitaries.
Devananda Nair, Festin Biju (B.Tech S4 CSE, 2023-’27 batch), Alwin Sajan,and Adarsh Abraham Johnson (B.Tech S6 CSE, 2022-’26 batch) showcased their innovative ideas at the Money Conclave by participating in the prestigious Ideathon, a flagship initiative of the event. Their submissions were shortlisted among the best entries, earning them a spot in the final round. This remarkable achievement highlights their creativity and problem-solving skills, as they successfully secured their ticket to the grandfinale of the Ideathon.
Festin Biju (B.Tech S4 CSE, 2023-’27 batch) has secured an internship as a Flutter Developer at Lifosys Digital Systems Pvt. Ltd., demonstrating his strong technical skills and commitment to software development. This achievement highlights his dedication to mastering cutting-edge technologies in mobile appdevelopment.
Eldhose Saju, Irene Issan, and FidhaanAsmeer (B. Tech S1 CSE, 2024-’28 batch) emerged as the winners of Project UNO 1: Mastering Git and GitHub, a competition organized by CSAT in collaboration with the Core.ai Club of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, TIST.

Outstanding Achievement in District-Level AI Quiz

Akshitha Giju Shines at Kerala State Roller Skating Championship
Akshitha Giju (B.Tech 2024-‘28 ), showcased her exceptional talent by winning four bronze medals in speed skating at the Kerala State Roller Skating Championship. The event took place in Palakkad from November 1st to 4th, 2024. Rehan Rajesh (B.Tech 2022-’26), Eldho G Blayil, N Pranav, and Pranav Krishna P K (B.Tech 2024-’28) showcased exceptional teamwork and determination, helping their team secure the Runner-Up position in the KTU-D Zone Kho-Kho (Men’s) Championship. The competition was held on November 5th and 6th, 2024, at SSTE Karukutty.
Champions of Chess Tournament
Adarsh P.B (S5 CSE) and Abel Kurain (S3 CSE) from the Department of CSE excelled at the KTU D Zone Inter-Collegiate Chess Tournament held at M.A. College, Kothamangalam on 19th October. The team secured the second runner-up position in the All Kerala Inter Zone Tournament at St. Joseph Engineering College, Pala on 29th October.
Akshitha Giju Excels at Ernakulam District Roller Skating Championship
Akshitha Giju (B.Tech 2024 – ‘28) delivered an outstanding performance at the Ernakulam District Roller Skating Championship, held in Kalamassery on October 7-8, 2024. She clinched three silver medals and one bronze, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication. Her remarkable achievement is a source of pride and inspiration, setting a benchmark at the district level.
CSE Students Win Second Prize in Mathematical Model Building Competition
Irine Paul and Devananda Nair (B.Tech 2023 – ’27) secured the Second Prize for their still model at the Inter-College Mathematical Model Building Competition on December 18, 2023. Organized by the Department of Mathematics, the competition encouraged students to apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems, enhancing problem-solving, analytical, and computational skills. The event, part of the Udyama 1.0 initiative by the Directorate of Technical Education and the Government of Kerala, also promoted teamwork and communication.
Winners of AI-Powered Hackathon for Personalized Learning
Mohammed Sahil, Neha Prasannan, Thanmaya S Krishna, and Gopika Shaju (S5 CSE, TIST) secured the First Prize for their project Micro Learn at the AI-Powered Hackathon, hosted by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in association with IEEE and IEEE-CS Toc H. The event, part of the Udyama 1.0 initiative by the Directorate of Technical Education and the Government of Kerala, focused on Personalized Learning Systems Using AI, fostering innovative solutions for education. The Third Prize was shared by two teams: AI-Powered Personalized Quiz Generator with Crypto-Based Incentives by Aadhil Kassim P N, Aakash Rajeev, Aldrin Jacob, Arjun K S (S1 CSE, TIST) and EduBot: Personalized AI Mentor by Adarsh Abraham Johnson, Deva Nanda Nair, Irine Paul, Aswathy Gopinath (S3, S5 CSE, TIST). CSE Team Wins Hydro-Innovate Hackathon
Malavika Narayanan,Rini Sara Markose, and Akhil P.S. (B.Tech 2021-2025) emerged as the winners of Hydro-Innovate, a hackathon focused on clean water solutions. Organized by the Department of Information Technology in collaboration with the Directorate of Technical Education as part of Udyama 1.0, the event was held on September 23, 2024.The hackathon aimed to inspire innovative approaches to addressing challenges in clean water and sanitation. MaveliGPT 2.0: Unleashing AI Creativity
The MaveliGPT 2.0 Maveli Bot Maker Challenge, organized by TinkerHubTocH Kochi, challenged participants to redefine AI creativity. Arjun A and Devananda (B.Tech 2023-’27) demonstrated exceptional innovation, securing the top two positions in the competition. The event provided an engaging platform to delve into efficient AI solutions, sparking active participation and keen interest among attendees.

We are proud to announce that the final year B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering students have secured Rs. 35,850 in funding from KTU CERD 2023-’24 under the Student Project Category – CSE for their innovative project, ‘Smart Fish Tank Cleaner’. The talented team, consisting of Abdu Nafih, Adithya T S, Amith Prabha, and Arish Thomas Varghese (B.Tech CSE, 2020-’24 batch), is led by Principal Investigator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saira Varghese, with Co-Investigator Asst. Prof. Jacob Jose Chemmankuzha and Mentor Asst. Prof. Baazil P Thampy. 2. Celebrating B.Tech Innovators: Merit Award for “INTELLIBIN”
We are thrilled to congratulate Aamil K Niyas, Arjun T S, Abhay S, and Abhishek A U from the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (2020-’24 batch) on their remarkable achievement. Their project, “INTELLIBIN”, was honored at the National Technology Day 2024 celebrations held in Thiruvananthapuram on 18 May 2024. The team received the merit award and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 for their outstanding innovation and creativity in the college students’ category.
The event, themed ‘Fostering Creative Tech – Igniting Young Minds to Innovate’, was organized by the Kerala Digital University of Sciences, Innovation and Technology (Digital University Kerala, DUK) in collaboration with the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment (KSCSTE), Government of Kerala.

Akhil P S (CSE 2021-’25), the Co-founder of Finity Tech Craft, has achieved remarkable success with his innovative mobile app. His dedication and hard work have paid off, showcasing both technical skills and creative problem-solving abilities. As the App Lead of Google Developer Student Clubs and Learning Facilitator of TinkerHub student communities, Akhil not only achieves personal success but also actively contributes to the growth and development of the tech community at Toc H.
Ms. Liya Shaji (B.Tech CSE 2021-’25) was selected as the Google Developer Student Club Lead for the Campus, for the 2023-‘24 academic year.

Roshan Mathews and Kevin Bobby (S7 CSE) received “Jury Special Mention award” for their prototype on “IOT based Water Quality Monitoring System using Blockchain” as part of People10 Code Combat Hackathon held at People10 Banglore Office. Code Combat was a 1 week event, where the best of practitioners and the brightest of engineers came together to solve real problems on the specified code combat themes.

Alvin Jose, Adith K V, Abdul Rahman and Abhinav Prasanth (2022-’26 CSE) secured third prize EMANATE – Managerial Hackathon by IEEE (PIE) under kerala section at CET, Trivandrum on November 6th, 2022.
Second Prize – TECHNOHACK organized by IEDC MEC
Rohit Ramdas, Liya Shaji, Malavika Narayanan, and Rohit Pradeep Sudarsanan (2021-’25 CSE) secured second prize in the TECHNOHACK organized by IEDC MEC, in 18 March 2023. The project focused on developing an app in Health Track. They developed, Ichor, a blood donation app which helps in efficient blood donation by individuals and blood request by organizations.
